Many players will be more familiar withBreath of the WildthanDynasty Warriorsgoing intoAge of Calamity, and seeing it marry concepts from the two games is a point of interest for many. It’s well known at this point thatAge of Calamitywill useBreath of the Wild’s map, which will be integrated into the war against Calamity Ganon. What wasn’t known until recently however is that some features of that map will return as well. As seen in the game’s latest trailer, Koroks will return, as will their big brother Hestu.

InBreath of the Wild, Koroks hid themselves all over the map and handed out Deku Nuts as prizes for finding them. The trailer shows a Korok appearing from a broken box, so it looks like the hiding mechanic is still in place. Hestu was the character player delivered the Nuts to, and in exchange, he would expand their inventory. Now Hestu is back with fully voice acted lines. Considering the fan love towards Hestu, he’s just one morereason to be excited aboutAge of Calamity.

While Hestu’s role in the story is not shown, it’s not hard to guess. In all likelihood the Deku Nut system will make a return and Hestu will return to his old role. Unfortunately he’s notconfirmed as aHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamityplayable characteryet, but fans can still hold out hope for using Hestu’s legendary maracas as weapons.

If by some miracle Hestu does emerge as a playable character, it’s worth speculating how he would fight. Also, sinceLink can fight the other Champions inAge of Calamity, one wonders what his prize would be from defeating Hestu. Only time will tell what Hestu brings to the table, but whatever it is, he’ll probably be cheery about it.
