InKengan Ashura, numerous fighters participate in the intense Kengan tournament to exhibit their varying strength and skills. While many combatants in the Kengan matches arerenowned for their extraordinary abilities, some characters are considered among the weakest in the tournament. Though these fighters may possess unique styles and tactics, they often face challenges against opponents with greater power, experience, or adaptability.
In other words, some fighters may need more specialized training, have limited combat experience, or possess physical limitations that hinder their performance in the tournament. However, despite their weaknesses, these characters often bring their unique fighting styles and strategies to the matches, adding depth and diversity to the competition. It’s important to note that being considered weak in the Kengan tournament is relative to the fighters' high standards and exceptional abilities.

5Sawada Keizaburo
Sawada lacks the raw physical strength that Julius possesses. Julius Reinhold is known for his immense size, muscle mass, and incredible power, making him one of the strongest-looking fighters in the series. Meanwhile, Sawada has a smaller and less imposing physique, making it difficult for him to match Julius’s strength.
Sawada’s fighting style revolves around grappling and submissions, which require close contact with the opponent. Against much larger opponents like Julius, this approach becomes less effective. Julius can use his size and strength to control the fight, making it challenging for Sawada to execute his techniques effectively. Julius relies on his brute strength, and for opponents like Sawada, it will take a lot of work to land effective strikes.Characters who look physically strong permeate the show. Even if Sawada did not match up against Julius but another opponent with brutal strength, it would be the same result for him.

4Karo Yoshinari
Karo’s background primarily lies in fishing rather than combat. He lacks the specialized training that many other fighters in the tournament possess. This puts him at a disadvantage when facing opponents who have undergone extensive martial arts training. Karo’s physicality seems intimidating against a smaller opponent like Saw Paing; however, his inability to combine his solid physical look with powerful combat styles hinders his performance.
Karo’s background experience as a fisherman is a core part of his fighting style. Fishing skills typically require strength and endurance, but they may not directly translate to the requirements of high-intensity combat. Saw Paing’sunique fighting style, which involves an unpredictable and erratic offense, proved challenging for Karo to anticipate and defend against. Karo is another example of why physical looks don’t matter in combat, and how being a well-rounded fighter is necessary to excel in Kengan matches.

3Kaneda Suekichi
In the brutal world of Kengan matches, physical prowess is often one determining factor in the outcome of battles. Kaneda lacks the physical strength and durability that many other fighters possess. Unlike many fighters in the tournament who have honed their skills in specific martial arts disciplines, Kaneda relies more on his natural toughness and resilience. While these attributes can be beneficial in enduring punishment, they may not be enough to overcome opponents with superior technique, speed, or power.
For a fighter of Kaneda’s caliber, endurance to pain means nothing in the face of an opponent like Gaolang Wongsawat, a professional Muay Thai fighter with a strong background in combat sports. While Kaneda may be considered weaker than many fighters in the tournament, he still possesses unique strengths. His unorthodox fighting style and resilience may provide unexpected challenges to some of his weaker opponents.

2Chiba Takayuki
The faceless man, Chiba, copies different techniques used in combat to obscure his fighting style, making it challenging for opponents to read his movements. His style is based on adaptability and mastering thousands of otherfighters' combat stylesand movements. However, his opponent, Hatsumi Sen, is known for his ability to read his opponents and respond accordingly, allowing him to effectively counter Chiba’s tactics.
Hatsumi is renowned for his exceptional speed and agility, and is often compared to a floating cloud. His evasive movements and swift footwork make it challenging for Chiba to land a decisive strike on his opponent. Chiba’s show at the beginning of the tournament was promising. Viewers expected more from a fighter who can copy thousands of fighting styles of his opponents, but his swift ending was disappointing. It is almost as if he lets down strong fighters by copying their fighting styles.

While Chiba’s ‘copy’ style technique offers a unique approach to combat, more was needed to defeat his opponent. Due to Chiba’s poor outcome, Hatake Kakashi remains the best copy ninja in combat.
1Nezu Masami
Even before the fight against Rei Mikazuchi started, Nezu Masami had already lost. Nezu entered the fight with so much emotion, and his past as a Mickey Mouse character who entertains kids would not have helped against an assassin like Rei. Nezu’s opponent, Rei, is ahighly skilled fighterwith exceptional reflexes and combat experience. Nezu’s lack of training and expertise in combat leaves him at a considerable disadvantage over almost any fighters in the Kengan tournament.
Other weak fighters in the series would most likely have defeated him with little or no effort. Since Rei knows that he is a weakling, Nezu does not even possess the element of surprise to effectively land a strike against his opponent. The Kengan tournament is for the strong and mentally prepared, and sadly, Nezu is neither.
