Kyedae, whose real name is Kayla, initially found it difficult to discuss her condition in public, butshe eventually decided to share her story with her Twitch audience. I play this game (Valorant) 8 hours a day,” said Kyedae. “Nothing will phase me, you can literally joke about my death and I don’t give a s**t.” The game also provided a sense of accomplishment and empowerment, as she was able to focus on improving her skills and ranking up in the game. On one of her prior streams, she also revealed thatshe kept her initial cancer diagnosis a secretfrom everyone, including her family, friends, and fiancé Tenz. However, Kyedae discovered, maintaining secrets may also be stressful and cause further anxiety. She eventually chose to be frank with her fiancé after finding it harder and harder to keep her diagnosis a secret from him over time. Fortunately, TenZ was sympathetic and understanding when Kyedae finally told him the news. He told her that he would be there for her throughout her treatment and pledged his whole support.
