Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warmay have had its problems at launch, but the game still boasts a strong player base. As such, the rumor thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill be receiving a lot more maps makes sense.

Previously, well-known insider Tom Henderson claimed thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warsupport will continuelong after its Seasons have ended andCall of Duty2021 has released. Citing Activision’s satisfaction with the revenue the game has brought in post-launch, the leak makes sense. While Henderson did not clarify what form this extra support would be taking, another reputable insider has confirmed that several multiplayer maps are on the way.

While players could expect about six more maps due toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warhaving a few Seasons left, @TheMW2Ghost believes there are twice as many on the way. The leaker says there are “about 12” maps that have beendesigned forCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warbut have not yet released. Assuming that the format for the last two Seasons is the same as the previous four, players can expect three maps in Season 5 and three maps in Season 6. As such, “a bunch” would need to come post-season.

AnotherCall of Duty: Black Ops 2map remakeis mentioned, though it is unclear if this is part of the 12-map count or if it would serve as a thirteenth addition. With Yemen, Plaza, and Slums also leaking, this remake would likely have to be something else from the secondBlack Opstitle. Regardless, this is an impressive amount of post-launch content, as someCall of Dutygames have launched with that number. As of now, the only question is how the maps will be released.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s extra contentwas added suddenly a few months’ back, with no buildup for its release at all. It was then removed and added back in, making the entire situation feel strange and unplanned.Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s bonus maps may launch in the same way so that attention is not taken away fromCall of Duty2021. At the same time, they could be built up through trailers, with the post-season content having a bit more hype behind it. Regardless of how it happens, though, fans should be happy to know that it is on the way.

While it remains to be seenifCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarZombies will benefitfrom this extra content, multiplayer fans clearly have a lot to be excited about. With Season 5 just around the corner, too, a few of these maps are going to be dropping very soon.
