Sera Gearhardt is one of the more morally gray characters inLife Is Strange: Before The Storm.In the lengthy game’sfirst episode,Rachel Amber and Chloe Pricespy on Sera kissing Rachel’s father in a park not too far from Arcadia Bay. Throughout the game, the pair slowly unravel the mystery of this woman that Rachel believes is having an affair with her father. In a shocking plot twist, it’s revealed that Sera is actually Rachel’s biological mother who became estranged after she fell heavily into drug usage.

After figuring this out, it becomes the focal point of the rest of the game to get Rachel and Sera to finally meet. But, in most endings ofLife Is Strange: Before The Storm,this doesn’t end up happening. The ending that has Sera and Rachel finally meeting by the lighthouse is considered a “secret ending.” For good reason too, as the method for getting this secret ending is rather complex.
Choosing A Kiss Or Tattoo Over The Bracelet
InLife Is Strange: Before The StormEpisode 2, “Brave New World,“players must choose between Rachel giving Chloe a tattoo, kiss, or her bracelet. Many of those who ship the two protagonists may immediately dive for having them kiss, but, cleverly, an easy method of obtaining this secret ending is choosing to have Rachel give Chloe her bracelet.
However, fret not, thereisa way to get the secret ending even without Rachel’s bracelet. During the final episode, Chloe will get the chance to talk to Sera and convince her to meet her daughter. The dialogue that ensues operates on a sort of points-based system. Certain answers will add points, making it more likely that players can achieve this secret ending, and other answers will deduct points.

In order, there are nine possible dialogue options for players that want to obtain the secret ending, but have chosen the kiss or tattoo over Rachel’s bracelet:
1.You know my name?
2.Know about what?
3.I don’t understand
4.She deserves to meet you
5.Everybody’s broken
6.I lost my father
7.Rachel needs you
- I thought my dad was perfect
9.Don’t leave
Regardless of which dialogue options are chosen, Sera will leave aftertalking to Chloe. However, if the correct dialogue options have been chosen she will show up again at the end of the game to meet Rachel by the lighthouse.
That said, there is still one more thing players will need to do to achieve this secret ending. When meeting Rachel at the hospital after talking with Sera, players need to tell Rachel everything about what her father has done regarding Sara. If players choose this option and the correctdialogue optionsduring the initial talk with Sera, even without the bracelet, the secret ending where Rachel and Sera meet should trigger.
Choosing To Take The Bracelet
Choosing Rachel’s bracelet over the kiss or tattoo makes it relatively simpler to obtain the secret ending inLife Is Strange: Before The Storm, as it rewards more points in the conversation than any of the correct dialogue options.

Players still need to choose the same dialogue options as if they didn’t have the bracelet, but if they mess up one or two answers it will be easier to bounce back and unlock the secret ending with the bracelet in their possession. During the last dialogue option, instead ofDon’t Leave,players who chose the bracelet should have unlocked an option toGive Her Rachel’s Bracelet.Pick this option, and it will trigger Sera to remember how she gave this bracelet to Rachel when she was a baby. Afterward, she will show up at the lighthouse.
Regardless of whether players have the bracelet, they always need to tell Rachel the truth in the hospital in order to have Sera and Rachel meet at the end of the game.
