Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio release a trailer for the upcomingLike a Dragon Ishinremake, which shows off the variety of mini-games and side activities that are available for players to tackle. For the uninitiated, this game is a remake of 2014’sLike a Dragonspin-off, with this release marking the very first time this game has been brought over to the west. This has the player embody the role of Sakamoto Ryoma, a samurai from the Bakamatsu era whose voice and appearance are based onLike a Dragonmainstay Kiryu Kazuma, who is searching for his father’s killer.
With the game launching in a little over a month, Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have been releasing gameplay videos and trailers that highlight the many activities that players can enjoy. This ranges fromLike a Dragon Ishin’s diverse combat optionsto interviews with the actors that will be portraying some of the recurring characters. The latest trailer focuses on a series staple; the deluge of mini-games and side activities that can be found.

Like a Dragon Ishin’s mini-game overview trailer focuses on a number of familiar activities along with ones that are exclusive to this game. This includes how the UI has been overhauled for this remake, which can be seen in some brief clips. The mini-games fans can participate in vary, including a Buyo Dancing rhythm game, a betting-based chicken race, fishing, and even a variant on Rock, Paper, Scissors.
There are also a number of classic Japanese card and dice games, such as Koi-Koi, Cho-Han, Oicho-Kabu, and Poker. There are some more wild and out-there minigames such as slashing cannonballs with Ryoma’s sword, a sake drinking contest, and even running an Udon Shop. Even a Bakamatsu-styled era version ofLike a Dragon’s karaoke minigamecan be played, which has translated lyrics for fans to follow along and maybe even sing to if they’re so inclined.
The trailer ends with a preview of some ofLike a Dragon Ishin’s pre-order bonuses, including two katanas known as the Bloody Sheen and Kijinmaru Kunishige, along with a Black Ship Cannon. These bonuses are only available for those who’ve ordered the Digital Deluxe version of the game, with players also getting 4 days of early access to boot. With a large number of side activities in games likeYakuza 0,Judgment, andYakuza: Like A Dragon, fans should expect a similar amount of ways for them to entertain themselves while disengaging from the main plot.
