A newLost Arkupdate has caused some minor issues such as one that causes players' characters to literally lose their heads in an ironic twist. AlthoughLost Arkwas already a popular gamein Asia ahead of its Western release, it experienced a boom of players in February 2022 when it launched there, causing an influx of bug reports like the one highlighted by players during the latest update.
Several Reddit users are among the countlessLost Arkplayers sharing videos of their characters losing their heads in the Smilegate and Amazon Games MMO. Since its release in the West,Lost Arkhas maintained relevance in player count and Twitch viewership, experiencing occasional dips between content drops. Similar to other MMOs on the market, likeNew WorldorWorld of Warcraft, developers have to add hotfixes to the patch schedule, and another one may be on the way due to a problem introduced with the most recent update.

Reddit user Clone-Kuuhaku shared aLost Arkpost yesterday in which they’re standing next to their fox pet as one of the customizable heroesavailable in the Gunslinger class. Due to the camera angle facing the character from behind, everything seems normal until Clone-Kuuhaku turns their Gunslinger and starts running to spotlight the detached head floating away from its body in what looks to be completely unintended. As the Gunslinger runs around the environment, the head bobs around as it would when attached to the rest of its figure, but appears to be floating through the air and responding to the movements of the body trailing behind it.
Similar to Clone-Kuuhaku, Reddit users Gakiloroth and Endraegon had their own posts that have garnered upvotes indicating that they both suffered from the same glitch impacting the first player and otherLost ArkGunslingerslike them. Gakiloroth’s clip showed what the headless skin may look like from a traditional overheadLost Arkcamera angle before the camera is zoomed in to highlight that the head is floating as far from its body as Clone-Kuuhaku’s character which helps illustrate how widespread the problem is in the MMO. Using screenshots instead of a video to point out the before and after of their Gunslinger, Endraegon shows their Gunslinger as it was before the update and the expectedly headless version that they inherited since the patch.
Because of how many players are reporting thisLost ArkGunslinger glitch, Smilegate may be able to adjust the strange visual conundrum in the near future. As the bug seems associated almost exclusively with certain Gunslingers, the problem may be class or skin-related whileLost Arkheroes like magesor martial artists seem unscathed by the issue.
