Like several other games in FromSoftware’s catalog,Elden Ringhas some different endings to chase down. Some of these finales seeElden Ringplayers needing to complete obscure tasks or find some well-hidden areas beforehand, and the Frenzied Flame ending is no exception.
Widely regarded as the evil ending for the game,Elden Ring’s Frenzied Flame endingnot only sees the Erdtree burning, but everything else in the Lands Between. To trigger this ending, players need to go to the Royal Capital and find their way down to the Subterranean Shunning Grounds. Once there, they have to battle a weaker version of Mohg, defeating the Omen and getting a bit of practice ahead of their encounter with the Lord of Blood’s true form.

AfterMohgis beaten,Elden Ringplayers can break an illusory wall in his boss room. Once done, they will find a massive hole leading to the Frenzied Flame door, with some extremely careful platforming required to reach the bottom without dying from fall damage. Gamers need to fall from one extended, grave-shaped platform to the next, constantly lowering themselves to the ground drop by drop. Missing one of these platforms usually means death, but for Reddit user Vetzki_, that was not the case.
The clip begins as any otherjourneys to the Frenzied Flame doordo, with the Redditor nailing the first several jumps and going from platform to platform. Eventually, though, they miss the landing, seemingly falling to their demise. However, they are lucky enough to survive the fall, destroying the floor below and making it to the bottom of the hole despite their slip-up. As for why they survived, it seems like it has to do with their character model briefly getting stuck on one of the walls before continuing to plummet to the ground.
With the game reading the break in the player’sElden Ringfallas if it were a natural occurrence and not someone colliding with an extended wall texture, the Redditor was able to survive. As their post’s title shows, this was not done intentionally, with Vetzki_ surely thinking that they were dead after slipping off the side of the slab. For other players that fall at this point, moving toward the wall and trying to briefly break the fall could be a wise idea, as it might just save them from another attempt at completing their descent.
While there are some strategies to make the Frenzied Flame platforming easier, it seems like this lucky Redditor has stumbled upon another. With this likely only working for this particular drop, though,Elden Ringplayersmay want to try completing the area as intended and use this maneuver as a last resort.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
