Thresher Maw Encountersg

Thresher Maws can be difficult creatures to kill as they have a lot of health, they’re fast, and can hide underground.Hostile tentacles will appear from underground but the beast’s primary attack is spitting acid in the player’s direction. In the original version of the game, this attack consists of only one acid spray, butin theLegendary Editionthis has been changed, and instead multiple acid projectiles will be thrown, making it slightly harder to dodge.
Combat Strategy
Although it might not be for everyone,players can’t actually beatMass Effectwithout the Mako, and when it comes to defeating Thresher Maws it’s terribly helpful.Though it is possible to take down a Thresher Maw on foot, it’s significantly harder to dodge its acid attacks. On top of that, the Mako makes it easier to retreat if its health ever declines to a dangerous point.

Defense is just as important as offense when fighting Thresher Maws. In order to reduce the Thresher Maw’s health while preserving the Mako’s, the player must keep driving forward to dodge its acid spray attacks and aim and shoot toward its head between attacks.
The tentacles can be a bit of nuance but it’s best to not engage with them and simply avoid them by driving past them and keeping a certain distance. Each tentacle has its own health bar but taking down the Thresher Maw should be the player’s main objective; once it’s dead its tentacles will no longer be a threat.
