InMinecraft Legends, players are strongly encouraged to build defensive structures and towers to protect key locations, like the various villages and mob homesteads scattered across the Overworld. While initially, players are limited to only wooden walls and basic arrow towers, they can gradually unlock a number of new structures, along with the ability to upgrade existing structures by placing support buildings nearby.

One particularly important improvement players gain access to early in the story ofMinecraft Legendsallows them to upgrade nearby towers and walls from wood to stone, reinforcing them and making it far harder for the Piglin Hordes to breach them. This Masonry structure is a tremendous boon to players' defensive efforts, and this guide will explain how to unlock and make use of it.

How to Unlock the Masonry in Minecraft Legends

Players will unlock the Masonry structure early inMinecraft Legendsas part of the opening, though the game doesn’t draw attention to it specifically. It is one of the new buildings unlocked when the player gains the ability to Gather Iron alongside the Grindstone Golem and Mossy Golem Spawners. It costs quite a lot to build one, though, and players won’t actually be able to store enough Iron to build it until they increase their Iron storage at least once.

Once a second “Improvement: Gather Iron” has been constructed at the Wellspring, players will be able to construct a Masonry using 50 wood, 100 stone, and 200 iron. This excellent defensive structure will upgrade the walls and towers around it into stone versions over time, making it much harder for Piglins to breach the defenses.

Tips and Tricks for Using the Masonry

Players should construct Masonry buildings to reinforce their defensesin areas that frequently get damaged or destroyed during Piglin raids, patching up weak spots in their defenses. Paired with a Carpenter’s Hut to repair the structures, the Masonry can drastically strengthen the fortifications of an area, allowing it to hold its own against the incoming Hordes.

Placing one near the fountain in a village, and building walls and towers in its range to protect the fountain, can create an excellent final defensive layer for a village’s most vital structure. Once Iron is available more readily, players can build extra Masonry structures to reinforce outer walls and create some incredibly effective barriers to hold off the Piglins.
