A new experience from Gotham City emerges withGotham Knights. Players will be filling the costumed boots of Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Robinas they traverse through Gotham City, and provide it with law and order, justice and vengeance. However, like every masked vigilante in DC, mistakes can be made, some of which could be disastrous.
Exploring Gotham City, and taking on the dangerousvillains of Batman’s Rogues Gallery, is no easy task.Gotham Knightspresents players with a challenge, one that will make them realize that Gotham is not alone. Gamers should be aware of the natural mistakes they could make, and how to counter them.

8Thinking The Combat Is Arkham Style
It’s hard to disassociate Batman-centric video games from theBatmanArkhamfranchise. TheArkhamgames are beloved by many DC Comics fans, and gamers alike. From the story to the gameplay, it does many things right, and many gamers expectedGotham Knightsto be acontinuation of this formula.
It’s okay to mistakeGotham Knightsfor anotherArkhamgame, but once the game is in the hands of the player, they will realize that it has a different combat system. It also features different renditions of the characters adapted for this universe. To avoid confusion,Gotham Knightsshould be seen as Warner Bros Montreal’s creation.

7Not Crafting
Crafting is a mechanic that features many video games. It’s one of the most modern features, but some players still keep it on the back burner. However,Gotham Knightsmake players aware that to get stronger and honor Batman’s legacy, they need to invest and indulge in crafting mechanics to create gear and gadgets.

Crafting can be confusing or take up the player’s time, especially when they just want to fight criminals and investigate the death of Batman. However, they should certainly look more into the crafting mechanics, especially since it will have them use Nth Metal.
6Not Understanding Easter Eggs
Considering thatGotham Knightsis set in the DC Universe, it’s no surprise that the game features an abundance of Easter eggs and references to other DC characters. Just like theArkhamgames, there are plenty of references and visual Easter eggs to fan-favorite characters, whether those are heroes or villains.
It’s perfectly normal to stumble upon an Easter egg, and not understand what it is. DC Comics have had characters exist in their canon for decades, and players might not be too familiar with the comics, but only with the game that they want to play. This doesn’t mean that the game is not for them.

5Not Experimenting In Co-Op
When players think of Batman in games and films, they think he prefers to work alone. However,Gotham Knightspresent a more comic book-friendly idea, in which Batman invests heavily in the family. The Bat Family is playable inGotham Knights, but it isn’t just a solojourney about griefand protecting Gotham City. It’s a co-op one.
Players can embark on their journey throughGotham Knightswith a friend or a stranger in the role of their co-op partner. It’s a feature players should explore. It makes the game feel so much more alive when they can do dual takedowns, and battle with a friend.

4Missing The Grapple
A vigilante in Gotham City wouldn’t be the same without a grappling hook. This gun is vital for heroes totraverse through Gotham City, with the many opportunities to latch onto buildings and skyscrapers. However, when players are rushing through Gotham, jumping across rooftops, oravoiding gunfire, missing the location of where they can grapple can certainly happen.

In the comics, even Batman has missed when firing his grapple gun, leading him to fall from buildings and suffer great pain. Players inGotham Knightsshouldn’t be dissuaded if this happens. Just get up and try again,as Batman would.
3Getting Lost
Gotham City is an extremely large location, with many districts, streets, and buildings. The city seems to be eating itself with its architecture, and the abundance of criminal activity that swarms the streets. Without Batman, criminal activity has skyrocketed, as there is nothing to fear. Yet, criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot. They forget that Nightwing, Robin,Red Hood and Batgirlare still here.
As players travel through Gotham City, they may find themselves in districts in which they had no mission in being involved. They might find enemies too powerful, or stumble across a building about other DC properties. Thanks to fast travel, players can just zip out of the wrong place quickly.

2Missing A Dodge
Combat can be a lot of fun in video games, especially with the fluid rhythm of a fighting game for superheroes. Yet, not every fighter is perfect. Mistakes can be made by vigilantes, which is one reason that they are human, and can’t exactly have bulletproof skin. Players can be enthralled by the combat, but might find their hero injured along the way.
Through some cutscenes, players might find characters wincing, or holding ice packs to their sides.Fighting crime is no easy task, and dodging every punch and kick isn’t either. Players should expect to get hit, but never back down, and hit back harder.

1Misunderstanding Elemental Weaknesses
There are five elements inGotham Knights, and each does its own thing. Concussive helps stun opponents. Cryogenic will freeze opponents with additional damage until they break free. Toxic will poison opponents for damage over time. Bioelectric shocks opponents and stops their movements. Lastly, Incendiary will have players damaged over time, as they try and put out the flames.
Another feature ofGotham Knightsthat players may misunderstand is the elemental weaknesses of specific villains and criminals. Players should be aware of what gear and attributes they are using. If whomever they are fighting is immune to the elemental effects they are using, the fight will last longer than it needs to.

Gotham Knightsis available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
