Sports games give fans the ability to have fun with strange mixes and matches of roster signings without pesky roadblocks like balancing a team’s salary. NowMLB: The Show 22is adding two new players to its Legends rosters and restoring them to their prime.
MLB: The Show 22released the names of their first two Legends being added this year. The Minnesota Twins duo of Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau were revealed as the first new additions to theMLB: The Show 22’s Legends roster. The two players were revealed during the online co-op feature live stream held on Twitch. No surprise that the team atSony San Diego Studiodecided to reveal two players that were teammates for the majority of their careers as the Legends reveals during the online co-op feature showcase. These players will be part of the game’s Diamond Dynasty mode. Fans that want an early chance at the Diamond Joe Mauer card can get one with the purchase of the Digital Deluxe Edition ofMLB: The Show 22.

Joe Mauer played in theMLBfor 15 years, all for the Twins. His career accolades include being the 2009 American League Most Valuable Player, won 3 batter’s titles, 3-time Golden Glove winner, and 5 Silver Slugger awards. Mauer was also the cover athlete forMLB The Show 10and11. Justin Morneau played 14 years of professional baseball, majority of which for the Twins. He won the 2006 American League MVP award, the 2008 Home Run Derby, the 2014 batting title, and two Silver Slugger Awards. Both players retired in 2018.
The Legends roster forMLB: The Showexpands every year as time passes after a high profile player has retired. There was a tease at the end of thelatestMLB The Show 22gameplay trailerfor the lanky Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Randy Johnson. With time, the rest of the Diamond Dynasty Legends will be made public.
MLB: The Show 22has a lot riding on its release. After asuccessful first year on the Xbox platform, the game will now become available on the Nintendo Switch. The game also poses as a bridge to keep baseball fans engaged as the MLB Season is currently in limbo as a lockout initiated by the owners has kept players away from their teams in what would currently be Spring Training with no progress currently being made to start the 2022 Season.
