Following the conclusion of the Infinity Saga withAvengers: Endgame, the MCU continues to expand at a quick rate, with more characters and stories being introduced. With Disney Plus’Ms. Marvelputting the spotlight on a young new hero, fans have been wondering when the series fits in the cinematic universe’s timeline.
LikeMoon Knightand many of the other Disney Plus series,Ms. Marvelwill focus on a new hero making their MCU debut, this time beingIman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, a super-fan of the Avengers (particularly Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel). As she tries to navigate through high school, she gains enhanced abilities that transform her into the hero Ms. Marvel.

In a new interview with The Direct,Ms. Marvelexecutive producer Sana Amanat addresses where Kamala’s origin story lands on the MCU timeline.“So, I think right now, we haven’t put an official number on how many years have gone by since Endgame. I cannot tell you off the top of my head because I would butcher it,” she said. “I feel like it’s one to two years [after Avengers: Endgame], something like that, but I don’t actually remember [specifically]. But we do have that in our timeline.” WithEndgametaking place in 2023 canonically in the MCU, this places Ms. Marvel in the year 2024 or 2025.
WhileMoon Knightcontains the most recent eventswithin the MCU timeline, it is still unclear how much further in the future it takes place after series such asHawkeye, since it does avoid many MCU connections. But as of now, according to The Direct, the current MCU timeline order postEndgamelooks like this:Loki,What If…?,WandaVision,The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,Eternals,Spider-Man: Far From Home,Spider-Man: No Way Home,Hawkeye,Moon Knight,Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and lastlyMs. Marvel.
While it’s nice now knowing whenMs. Marveltakes place in the grand scheme of things, another exciting aspect of the series is its connection toThe Marvels, the highly anticipated sequel toCaptain Marvel. With Vellani confirmed to return in the upcoming film along with other cast members from the series, it will be interesting to see how the creators go about telling the story and setting up Kamala’s first interaction with Danvers.
Created by Bisha K. Ali (Loki), the series also stars Matt Lintz as Bruno Carrelli, Kamala’s best friend, Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan, Kamala’s mother, Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan, Kamala’s father, Laith Nakli as Sheikh Abdullah, Kamala’s religious mentor, and Aramis Knight as Kareem/Red Dagger, a vigilante who wears a red bandana and wields throwing knives. Meera Menon, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah willserve as directors onMs. Marvel.
