Summary
College Football 25is reviving the beloved football franchise that has been lying dormant, and the Road to Glory mode is getting a major change by skipping over high school football. Along with Road to Glory missing this feature, there are changes inCollege Football 25that have been featured in previous entries.
There hasn’t been aCollege Footballgame since 2013, with EA’sNCAA Football 14, and the long-awaited successor got a major reveal just a few weeks ago.College Football 25is set to be a major release for the summer, and many longtime fans have been eager to experience the first entry in the series that actually features real-life student athletes in-game. Thefeatures inCollege Football 25promise the return of some fan-favorite modes, like Road to Glory, but with some changes.

Despitethe return of Road to Glory, the mode will skip over a portion of the feature by no longer showing a player’s character at the prep level. In the past, Road to Glory would have players start their characters off for a short season in high school before going off to college to begin their careers. However,College Football 25will have players choose their characters' stats and have them immediately start in college.
The recent reveal of this change has been met with some mixed feedback. There are many longtime fans of the franchise who love playing Road to Glory to see their character progress through high school into the collegiate level. There hasn’t been any clear reason given as to why this popular detail of Road to Glory has been changed, but it’s an interesting difference. Another missing mode fromCollege Football 25is the Mascot mode, which lets players play games as their favorite school’s mascot. Dynasty mode seems to be the same for the most part, but players won’t be able toexport their draft classes over toMadden NFL Football 25.
Removing an important part of Road to Glory is a surprising move on EA’s part. WithCollege Football 25also skipping a PC release, there have been some interesting choices made so far with the game. However, it’s still exciting to see theCollege Footballfranchise continue after such a long hiatus.College Football 25’s release date of July 19 is drawing closer, and once the game launches, the Road to Glory mode hopefully won’t feel too empty without the high school backstory.
