Hawkeyeintroduced a few important new faces to the MCU, but one of the stars of the show was undoubtedly Clint Barton and Kate Bishop’s four-legged sidekick, Lucky the Pizza Dog. With the one-eyed dog being such a hit with Marvel fans, the studio released a special inside look at what filming with her was like.

And yes, as it turns out Lucky happens to be a female Golden Retriever named Jolt that took part in every single one of herHawkeyescenes. In Marvel Comics, Lucky originally belonged to amember of the Tracksuit Mafiaand was named Arrow before Clint went on to adopt him after the dog saves his life in a fight that costs him his left eye. Although theHawkeyeseries has taken a slightly different approach for this lovely hero, he remains just as endearing.

In the new clip posted by Marvel Studios,Hawkeyespecial effects supervisor Greg Steele explained what it took to get Jolt to become part of the MCU. Steele explained that this very good girl performed every single one of her own stunts with no CGI canines being used at all. However, the VFX team did have to step in to give Jolt the signature missing eye that Lucky the Pizza Dog has since she didn’t wear any type of prosthetics during filming, with the results being simply fantastic.

Despite not being formally named untilHawkeye’sfinale, Lucky the Pizza Dog ate plenty of pizza during the series, and it seems like the character will be permanently adopted by Kate rather than Clint in future MCU appearances. For example, theHawkeyeFunko Pops see Lucky paired with Kateinstead of Clint, who ends up being the dog’s final caretaker in the comics.

Regardless ofHawkeyenot being confirmed for a second season as of now, Kate Bishop is primed for future appearances in the MCU as part of a new generation of Avengers, or maybe even a separate team altogether like the Young Avengers, especially given the type offan reception Hailee Steinfeld has received. In any case, the fact that Lucky doesn’t require too many expensive CGI tricks should boost the chances of Jolt getting more Marvel gigs down the line.

2022 should see the release of at least four more Disney Plus exclusives for the MCU, namelyShe-Hulk,Moon Knight,Ms. Marvel, andSecret Invasion. Although no specific release dates have been made public so far, at least a couple of those could have some potential ties to the events that unfolded inHawkeye, withShe-Hulkbeing the prime candidate for that.
