The upcomingStar WarsseriesAndoris currently in the middle of filming, which means now is the perfect time forclever photographers to grab some sneaky teaser shotsfor everyone else to obsess over. Set in a time beforeRogue One: A Star Wars Story, the show has the perfect timeline to feature plenty of callbacks and references that will catch the eyes of long-time and newer fans alike. So it’s only natural that one of the first leaked set photos would reveal something recognizable.
Spanish language Twitter account Geek PopNews just revealed some fresh new angles of the show’s current production, and they’ve revealed more than just Diego Luna’s rebel-chic wardrobe. The shots showcase Luna as title character Cassian Andor in his life before he was first seen inthe rather mixed and mashedRogue One, but further than that, they seem to confirm the return of an enemy that has, up until now, only been seen in the same film.

The coastal defender stormtroopers, known by some as “shoretroopers,” previously only appeared during the extended battle sequence on Scarif inRogue One. But now these leaked shots reveal the return of these unique soldiers for the upcoming Disney+ series. Appearing in several of the same shots as Luna himself, it appears their presence in the show will be more than simple set dressing, as the photos seem to heavily imply he’ll be interacting with them once again (or possibly for the first time).
Considering Luna’s outfit, it almost looks likeanAladdintype of situation, where Andor himself is just a humble resident living on the streets of a town occupied by the empire, only to endure repeated encounters with the troopers due to his nature as one who goes against the grain. It’s difficult to tell from the shots themselves, of course, so that’s just speculation. The shots come from the coastal town of Cleveleys in the UK, where the series is currently shooting, so it makes sense that such a setting would include the same troopers that swarmed around the tropical setting of Scarif.
Of course, preciouslittle else has been revealed aboutStar Wars: Andor. All that’s known is that it will follow Luna as Cassian Andor during his life before what was seen inRogue One. It will also star Marvel veteranStellan Skarsgård, who appears excited to take part in the series, in a currently unknown role. Aside from that, it’s set to be a spy thriller, which goes perfectly in hand with Andor’s expertise at infiltration for the Rebel Alliance. Maybe that’s why he’s dressed in such an unassuming outfit in these shots.
There’s still a bit of a way to go beforeStar Wars: Andorfinally premieres, so hopefully, shots like this are enough to tide over fans until then. In the meantime, it seems like there will always be moreStar Warscontent out there to enjoy for the foreseeable future, whether people ask for it or now. But hey, better to have too much than not enough. It’s likely that not many will feature the same level of representation asAndor, but there’s always room for a surprise.
