Not too long ago, DC announced its upcomingFandome Event, which is set to take place in August. There’s plenty to be there such as details on the newBatmanmovie, comic announcements, and more, but one key detail everyone latched onto was the confirmation that WB Games would be revealed something. Because of this, many believe that the nextBatmangame will be announced there, and now a new title is being circulated.
This new title isBatman: Gotham Knights, as game domains were discovered for it and the Suicide Squad. The latter may presumably be Rocksteady’s new project, if this domains are to be believed. The first domain is registered as gothamknightsgame.com and the other is suicidesquadgame.com, suggesting the former to be the game’s official subtitle and the second to simply be titledSuicide Squad.

This makes a ton of sense in many ways. First, the timing lines up well, as just before the Fandome event was announced, many said it would beAugust before theBatmangamecame to light. Secondly, the title also falls into line with the most reliably rumblings of the game so far, although that admittedly could be due to some mega fan knowing a ton about the titular Batman.
First, it’s been long-rumored that thenextBatmangame would drop theArkhammonikerand serve as some type of soft reboot for the series. If the title is indeedBatman: Gotham Knights, it would certainly do that, but even more specifically, there have been rumors that the next game would heavily focus on the extended Bat-Family. To what extent remains to be seen, but Gotham Knights would also imply this.
Back in 2000, there a run of comics called Gotham Knights which focused on the Bat-Family, including Alfred Pennyworth,Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, Oracle, and Catwoman. The series eventually focused more onBatman’s enemies, but regardless, unless WB Games comes forward and denies these rumors (unlikely), fans have a likely bit of wait to find out how legitimateBatman: Gotham Knightsis. At the very least, it has more credibility to it than some leaks.
