The Google contractor allegedly leaked data about theYoshiSwitch title on Reddit before it was officially announced to the public at E3 in 2017. Nintendo has seemingly addressed 404 Media’s report and detailed the steps that it has started to take in an effort to improve its internal security.
Talking to investors in a recent shareholders meeting, Nintendo said that it was already aware of specific security issues that the media have reported, according to Twitter userNStyles. The company was responding to a question mentioning a story regarding aNintendo insider leak on YouTube, but NStyles' posts did not identify any specific report. This inquiry into the current state of Nintendo’s information security system also mentioned the recent data breach of Japanese media conglomerate Kadokawa, as well as Nintendo’s inability to stream on the video-sharing service Niconico due to a cyberattack on the platform.
