The story inOne Piecekeeps moving towards the end at a steady pace. Currently, the manga is focused on the land of Wano, where Luffy and co. are trying to defeat Kaido and his pirate crew. With every new arc, audiences meet new characters and, on rare occasions, see old characters return to the mix.

The Wano arcbrought back several old characters, including the likes of Marco and Izo.OnePiecehas a huge cast, and it is not a surprise that not all of them are able to get screentime. This opens a possibility for these older characters to return in the future, completing their stories. Here are just a few characters fans would like to see again.
10Enel
The former God of Skypiea is considered by many fans to be one of the best villains in the series. Enel has a lot of memorable quotes, many pertaining to the difference between his power and that of normal people. His name alone was enough to evoke fear among the Skypieans, who heralded him as a God.
Enel possessed the Goro Goro no Mi, an incredibly strong logia-type fruit that allowed him to control lightning. He combined hispowerful Observation Hakiand his devil fruit power, which enabled him to keep everyone on Skypiea under surveillance. After his defeat, Enel left for the Moon with another plan in his mind, which insinuates the possibility of a comeback.

9Crocodile
Crocodile was the main antagonist of the Alabasta arc. With his exceptional intelligence, Crocodile managed to overthrow the rule of Nefertari Cobra. He planned every step carefully, eventually gaining the trust of the common people.
Crocodile possesses the Suna Suna no Mi, a logia type devil fruit that allows him to control sand freely. He is one of the few characters who have defeated Luffy more than once. Crocodile also played a major role in the Summit War, disappearing afterward. Though he hasn’t been seen since, it is known that he is in the New World, and it is very likely that he will be making an appearance in the near future.

8Bon Clay
Originally, Bon Clay started out as an enemy of the Straw Hat Pirates, working under Crocodile’s command. After a chain of events, though, he had a change of heart. Following the conclusion of the Alabasta arc, he aided the Straw Hats' escape from the Marines and ended up sacrificing himself.

Bon Clay also played an important role in the Impel Down arc, where he helped Luffy to escape from the prison by staying behind and fooling the guards. After playing such significant roles in two major arcs, it is very likely that Oda will make him a part of arcs to come.
7Charlotte Katakuri
Charlotte Katakuri was one of the main antagonists of the Whole Cake Island arc. It might not have been long since Katakuri’s last appearance in the series, but the fans already want thisYonko Commander back in action.
He’s a fan favorite, and it would be great to see him return. Katakuri can use all three types of Haki, putting him in an elite tier in theOne Pieceworld. Katakuri played an important role in Luffy’s development as a fighter, as it was in his battle with Katakuri that Luffy awakened the ability to use Future Sight.

6Urouge
As a character, Urouge is severely underused and there have not been many instances where he has been in the spotlight. However, he has an impressive feat to his name: Urouge was able to take down Charlotte Snack, who was originally one of the Sweet Commanders. He also fought Charlotte Cracker, but the latter got the better of him.
Urouge’s devil fruit power remains a mystery, and there’s not much information about his past either. He’s undoubtedly one of thestrongest members of the Worst Generation; however, he is yet to be involved in any major post-time-skip arcs. With all the questions fans have about Urouge, it would be great to see him return and give the audience some answers.

5Gin
Gin was among the main antagonists of the Baratie arc, where the Straw Hats ended up recruiting Sanji as their cook. As the Combat Commander of Don Krieg, Gin didn’t want to harm Sanji, the man who showed him kindness and offered him free food.

After Krieg’s defeat, Gin started anew and decided not to follow his captain’s cruel orders. He’s one of the few East Blue characters that might yet return in the series.
4Smoker
Ever since he first met Luffy in the Logue Town arc, Smoker became obsessed withOne Piece’s main protagonist. Smoker went on to make major appearances in the Alabasta arc, Marineford arc, and Punk Hazard arc. With all these appearances, it’s not unlikely that he’ll return again.
Oddly, Smoker’s idol isGol D. Roger, the Pirate King. It is quite unusual for a Marine to be inspired by the most notorious pirate in existence. The fans can’t help but feel that Smoker will a key role to play in the future.

3Bellamy
Bellamy worshipped Doflamingo like a fanatic and desperately wanted to be acknowledged by Doflamingo and become a part of his crew. However, Doflamingo had other plans for Bellamy: he used the latter as a puppet to fight Luffy.
After Doflamingo’s downfall, Bellamy took Luffy’s vivre card, which hints toward a comeback. Perhaps fans will get to see this unfortunate character get a better ending in a future arc.

2Bartholomew Kuma
Kuma was one of the Seven Royal Warlords of the Sea. Before becoming a test subject of Vegapunk, Kuma was feared throughout the world. He was also a member of the Revolutionary Army and the reason that Sabo and co. attacked Mary Geoise.
The fate of the members of the Revolutionary army still remains unknown. Kuma’s return seems likely, as there are still a lot of things that the fans still don’t know about him and viewers could use some closure.

1Kuzan
Formerly a Marine Admiral, Kuzan left the Marines after his defeat to Akainu. The first Admiral to be introduced in the series, Kuzan played an important role in the fight against the Whitebeard Pirates. Kuzan has only made one appearance since the time-skip, during the Punk Hazard arc.
His involvement has been very limited, but there’s no doubt that his role in the series is far from over. Fans haven’t seen enough of this character yet, and his story — like many of those above — feels like it hasn’t quite finished.
