It had so many talented animators working on it, whose hard work ensured that the episode would go down in the history books.One PieceEpisode 1072 was a continuation of the fight between Luffy and Kaido. The Yonko was surprised that Luffy could still fight, especially after taking such a serious blow to his body. Little did he know that Luffy came back from the brink of death with some help from Nika. The Supernova lost consciousness, which paved the way for the Devil Fruit to take over his body. Like all the other Zoan-type Devil Fruits,Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nikahas a will of its own, and it brought back the pirate from the cusp of death.
Luffy awakened with a newtransformation called Gear 5, which altered his appearance to a certain extent. This particular form allowed Luffy to fight without any restrictions, unlike his previous Gears. Luffy was able to increase the size of his body, giving him the appearance of a giant. It enabled him to manhandle Kaido, who was in dragon form. Furthermore, Luffy seemed to be immune to almost all of Kaido’s attacks, which confused the latter. In his rage, the Yonko tried swallowing Luffy, but that didn’t work either.
With no other option left, Kaido switched to his hybrid state in an attempt to gain the upper hand in the fight. In the episode, Luffy tried plenty of different new moves that were both powerful and amusing. Luffy has yet to master Gear 5, yet he has the freedom to alter his body so much. So, if he manages to control it fully, he will become unstoppable.

Release Date
One Piece Episode 1072 will be released on June 09, 2025.It is titled, “No Way Out! A Hellish Scene on Onigashima”. The title suggests that things in Onigashima are going to get even worse. It alludes to a possible trump card for Kaido, which he will use to vanquish Luffy. Given the fact that Luffy awakened a brand new power, it is highly likely that Kaido also has a strong move in his arsenal that he has been saving for last. Even before Luffy had Gear 5,the Supernova was goingtoe-to-toe with the Yonko. Luffy’s new form significantly boosts his strength and allows him to perform all kinds of odd moves.
It is clear that Kaido cannot win the fight in his current state. So, he needs an upgrade of some sort as well. Kaido holds the title of the Strongest Creature in the World, and there is no question that he must have some kind of technique in his locker that can turn the tide of the battle. Either that or he comes up with something on the spot, which, considering his battling experience, wouldn’t be surprising.
Both fighters are aware that they must win at all costs. Luffy’s victory will ensure that Wano is freed from years of tyranny. In the event that Kaido ends up winning, most of the alliance will be wiped out or forced to submit. There is no other person in Wano who can compete with the Yonko. Luffy has overcome worse odds before, butKaido is nothing like his previous opponents. The Yonko has an ungodly amount of power, and he can turn the entire world upside down with it. The other members of the alliance will be spurring Luffy on, hoping that the young pirate can defeat Kaido. When Luffy finally manages to take down his foe, he will not only achieve his biggest victory to date, but he will also become arguably the strongest pirate in the world.
The Yonko, on the other hand, has lost all his allies, and he is the only thing standing between Luffy and Wano’s liberation. With both pirates on their last legs, the fight is in its final stage, and a single mistake could prove costly. There is a chance fans may finally get to see Kaido’s backstory. At the moment, there is hardly any information available about his past. Usually, villains get their flashbacks just before they are about to be defeated, and the same may be the case this time.
