Summary
With the long-running anime seriesOne Piecevery gradually approaching its end with the story in both the manga and animenow in the final saga, the announcement of its remake has raised many eyebrows. WithWIT Studioas the lead animation team, who are responsible forSpy Family, fans anticipateThe One Piece Remakeon Netflix to contain a plethora of changes not only to the narrative but pacing and story.
Since the early stages of the originalOne Pieceare still viewed as the best period of the series by many fans, multiple aspects should be placed within this remake to keep the essence of the beloved anime.

5Soundtrack/OST
The Anime Features A Wide Array Of Memorable Soundtracks
One of the core aspects of the entirety ofOne Pieceis the collection oflegendary soundtracks, specifically those that are themes for the Straw Hats andMonkey D. Luffyhimself. Since this is a remake, fans are expecting changes to almost every aspect of the series, not just to the story alone.
While it is highly likely for new soundtracks to be included in this remake, it is vastly important that the classic soundtracks from the original anime make an appearance here. It will further add to fans' level of nostalgia while blending in with the newly added soundtracks for a new and fresh feeling.

4Opening/“We Are” - Hiroshi Kitadani
This Opening Was Recently Remade For Episode 1000 In Wano
If there is anything that resonates with fans the most in terms of the aforementioned soundtracks ofOne Piece, it would beHiroshi Kitadani’s"We Are"opening theme song. This was recently remastered for episode 1000 of the anime, as a special episode and a tribute to fans watching over the years.
This is an opening that fans view as the defining opening theme for the entire series among the wide variety of openings over many arcs. Seeing this return in a new style of animation under WIT Studio will most certainly be a sight to behold for longtime fans.

3Haki Sound Effects
All Haki Types Maintain Specific Sound Effects
SinceThe One Piece Remakewill supposedly be starting fromRomance Dawn, Haki will likely take a while to become a recognized factor in the narrative depending on the changes made. Given the Straw Hats do not learn how to use Haki or even know of its existence in the early stages of their adventure, the only possibility of seeing this will be with other characters.
If that is the case, it would be highly beneficial if the Armament, Conqueror’s, and ObservationHaki’s sound effectswere all maintained. While this definitely is not a dealbreaker, it stands as a factor in maintaining the essence of the original while adding changes to delight fans.

2Comedic Tone
The Early Stages Of One Piece Featured Plenty Of Comedy
One Pieceiswell-known for its early arcsas mentioned earlier, and the high level of comedy and banter among the Straw Hats. This is an aspect that many fans mention longing for now in the current stages of the story, as they feel that it has died down much more in comparison, despite it still being present in some sequences.
Since a large majority of this comedy stems from all of the Straw Hats and their fascinating character traits, it would feel a little odd to seeThe One Piece Remaketake a turn toward a more serious tone early on, rather than sticking with what fans have known and loved.

1Japanese Voice Actors
Mayumi Tanaka Voiced The Live Action Luffy In Japanese Dub
The one aspect that must be kept in place in WIT Studio’sThe One Piece Remake, is the voice actors of the Straw Hats. Mayumi Tanaka and Kazuya Nakai stand as legendary voice actors for the series, and fans recognize them as Luffy and Zoro. While circumstances such as Inaki Godoy’s portrayal of Luffy in thelive-action Netflix adaptationare understandable, a in this context in anyOne Pieceanimated adaptation would not make much sense.
While it may heavily depend on how longThe One Piece Remakeis set to run, the current Japanese voice actors of these beloved characters are essentially part of what makes them who they are in the anime ofOne Piece. Based on the announcement trailer for the remake, it appears as though the voice actors will be keeping their roles after hearing Mayumi Tanaka voicing a younger Luffy in the trailer. A change to voice actors for characters outside of the Straw Hats may be understandable. This is seen in examples of Whitebeard and Gol D. Roger’s voice actors changing due to the unfortunate passing of Chikao Ohtsuka and Kinryu Arimoto, but in the case of current voice actors for what fans know of in the original series, it would be great to see them return here.
