Earlier today, Eiichiro Oda announced thatOne Piecewill be entering a month-long hiatus very soon, with the Wano Country arc finally coming to a close. With the end of the four-year-long arc, along with the production ofOne Piecelive-action, and the upcoming premiere ofOne Piece Film: Redall within sight, Oda decided to take a much-needed break. One Pieceis supposed to be on break from Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #30 to Issue #33, meaning after the next two chapters, that is chapters 1052 and 1053, the series will be on a hiatus for 4 weeks before finally returning on July 25th, 2022, which also happens to be the day of its 25th anniversary, with the next installment.
Among all the important things mentioned in Oda’s announcement, one that particularly stood out is thatOne Piecewould finally be entering its very last saga following the conclusion of the events of the Wano Country arc. This effectively means that the story is close to its end now, however, there are still quite a few questions in the fans' minds.

What Is Next For One Piece?
One Piecerecentlywrapped up its Wano Country arc after four long yearsof incredible storytelling filled with some of the most amazing action. In the midst of all that amazing action, it was quite clear to see that the story was slowly approaching its end. Previously, Eiichiro Oda mentioned that the end of Wano will be heavily tied to the end ofOne Pieceitself, which just goes to show the significance this arc holds when it comes to the end of the story. At the same time, Oda has also previously stated that once the Wano Country arc ends, fans will finally get to see the end of the stiory within sight, which is exactly what seems to be happening now. With the fall of Big Mom and Kaido, the world is likely going to be in chaos and, more importantly, Luffy will be ever so closer to attaining the One Piece and becoming the Pirate King.
Once the Wano Country arc wraps up, which is likely going to be with Chapter 1053 of the manga, fans will likely seethe dawn of a new era in theOne Pieceworld. With the balance of the world having been disturbed for good, it would make sense for the World Government to finally make its move and, in doing so, fans would then get to see the final saga of the story begin. The “Four Emperors Saga” focused on Luffy rising to their level, becoming an incredibly powerful pirate, and getting closer to becoming both Joyboy and the next Pirate King. The next saga, which will be the last, will likely see Luffy fulfill his goal and bring all that to reality.

At the same time, the saga will eventually tacklethe war between Luffy and his allies and World Government, as was foretold by Whitebeard before. According to Oda himself, he will draw the biggest war ever in this saga – one that would eclipse even Marineford and this is something that he intends to live by. Being the very last saga in the story, it is here where characters such as Shanks, Monkey D. Dragon, Blackbeard, and several others who have been patiently waiting on the sides will finally make their move. Undoubtedly,One Piece’slast saga will be something to behold.
How Long Before One Piece Ends?
With the announcement of the final saga of the story, fans ought to be curious about whenOne Pieceis going to end. While Oda has already made it clear that the series is quite close to its end and has previously even gone on to state that the story will wrap up within 5 years, it is safe to assume that the end is not going to come in the upcoming two or three years. One Piece’sprevious saga, known as the “Four Emperors Saga” ran its course from Zou all the way to the Wano Country arc.
Overall, the Saga spanned over 7 years and covered four arcs in total. The upcoming saga, being its last one, is certainly going to be the most important one and it is one that will be made up of quite a few arcs. Fans still have to witness the adventure in the land of Elbaf, the Final Island known as Laugh Tale where Luffy becomes the Pirate King, and the Great War against the World Government that Oda has now teased on several occasions.

Given that the story has quite a few arcs left that make up the final saga, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say thatOne Piecestill has at least five years of content left. Oda also has a habit of being wrong with his estimations often, as we’ve seen with the Wano Country arc most recently and the same could very well be true for the final saga of the story as well. While Oda does plan to end it as soon as he can, he also wouldn’t want to sacrifice the quality of his story at the same time.
One Pieceis, therefore, still years away from its end. The series will be celebrating its 25th anniversary later this year and will most likely also be celebrating its 30th anniversary while still being serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Despite everything,One Piecehas well and truly entered its final stretchwhere every single mystery of the story will finally be answeredand Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates will take an even bigger step towards fulfilling all their dreams. Regardless of how many years ofOne Piecethere are left, fans should sit back and enjoy one of the greatest stories ever told unfold and finally wrap up.
