The story has already highlighted some major clashes being built up in the previous chapter. Luffy ended up fighting against Kizaru, the Navy Admiral. This is most definitely the biggest clash that the fans will see in this section of the arc. At the same time, readers also saw Zoro take on Lucci, and this fight is also one to watch out for. From the Monster Trio, that leaves Sanji and, in the previous chapter, he had a particularly interesting encounter with Kaku. However, the question remains, will Sanji end up fighting Kaku in this arc?
The Build Up For Sanji Vs Kaku
Sanji and Kaku are not two characters that would be randomly thrown together to fight, if the clash were to happen. In fact, there is quite some build-up there, when looking back at the Water Seven Saga. Sanji and Kaku crossed paths for the very first time as enemies on the Sea Train, Puffing Tom, when Robin was being taken to Enies Lobby. Together with Franky and Usopp, Sanji attempted to rescue Robin and would have succeeded, had she not resisted as much as she did. That is preciselywhen CP9 took notice of the intruding groupand decided to take Robin back with them. This didn’t come before Sanji clashed with Blueno, however. In fact, even before getting his ultimate power up in the arc, Sanji was actually able to break through his Tekkai with his powerful Concasser.
This was immediately noticed by Kaku, who asked them to not underestimate Sanji just because he does not have a bounty on his head. While he did not have a reward, he was certainly worthy of one and was not to be underestimated. Kaku immediately took notice of him and decided that it was best to stay on his toes. Later on, when the crew were finding keys to the cuffs of Robin, Sanji intervened and took out Jabra after Zoro and Usopp were struggling. Once again, Kaku took notice of Sanji’s immense presence.

Is Kaku A Worthy Opponent For Sanji?
Kaku is certainly a very strong fighter. Fans have seen quite a lot of him in action over the years. In the Enies Lobby arc, he fought against Zoro and put up a commendable fight. Even though he was quite new to his Devil Fruit at the moment, he pushed the swordsman to the extreme and forced him to evolve to the next level in order to emerge victorious. Currently, Kaku has evolved even further as a fighter. He is an incredible user of Haki, for starters. Even though he knew Haki before the timeskip, his control over the skill has grown significantly over the years, as evident from his performance against Zoro earlier in the arc.

Furthermore, he has also gotten even strongerby awakening his Devil Fruit.Fans know for a fact that Kaku has taken the next step now and having awakened his fruit in such a short time means that he’s quite a genius himself. His awakening takes his powers to the very next level and makes him a powerful enemy for anyone to take on. He is certainly as strong as a Yonko Commander, however, where exactly he ranks isn’t yet known, especially since he has not been seen in action as extensively as Lucci on Egghead.
Will Sanji Fight Kaku?
In the previous chapter ofOne Piece, fans got to see Sanji and Kaku engage in a very interesting scene. As soon as Lucci attacked Stussy, Sanji took the Bubble Gun from Lilith and decided to trap Kaku in it. This means Kaku is now technically useless in this war. He cannot break free since this bubble emits the same wavelength as the ocean itself, meaning Devil Fruit users are useless against it. This also means that Kaku will be a spectator for the vast majority of this fight. However, there is a decent chance for him to get out of this bubble later on in this arc.
The problem with that is the fact that Kaku is severely injured at the moment. He mentioned previously that he got intoa fight with the Seraphimsand ended up receiving very lethal injuries during this clash. He was bandaged up by Chopper pretty nicely and laid to rest. On the flip side, Sanji is quite fresh and can fight in extreme battles right now. He has not taken any significant injuries at all and even if the two were to fight, Sanji would make very quick work of him, given that he is extremely powerful and does not carry any injury. At this point, a fight between Kaku and Sanji seems unlikely.

How Oda Will Deal With Sanji?
For now, it seems that Sanji does not have any major fight to take on. The only strong people on Egghead currently are Kizaru and Lucci. Currently, Luffy is fighting the former while Zoro is taking on the latter. This means Sanji does not have much to do at the moment, however, fans must remember that Sanji is one of the smartest Straw Hats and, when it comes to battle strategies, he is the very best in the crew. This means Sanji might make use of his other skills in the meantime. This would perhaps allow the Straw Hat Pirates to escape from Egghead later on and this strategy could end up saving all of their lives. Sanji is known to be a savior, after all, and this role fits him absolutely perfectly.
That certainly does not mean that Sanji will not haveany major fight on Egghead. One major fighter that has not entered the battle yet is Saturn himself. Given that he is likely going to be stronger than Kizaru, fans can expect that Luffy will shift his focus from Admiral to him at some point. If Lucci is dealt with at this point, or kept busy by someone else, then Sanji and Zoro could team up together to take on Kizaru. This would be an incredible fight for both these characters. For Zoro, it would help him get revenge on the Admiral for the way he was treated during the Sabaody arc. Meanwhile, for Sanji, it is the perfect matchup as the two share way too many similarities. For now, Sanji might not engage in this combat, however, it seems that there is a chance for this to happen later on in the Egghead arc.
