The currentStar Warsuniverse is a bit of a disjointed one. While eachStar Warsmovie trilogy ties in fairly nicely with one another, and there have been plenty of spinoffs that fill in the gaps of major events like the Clone Wars, there are still some pretty sizable holes in theStar Warstimeline, holes that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are desperately trying to fix.Season 3 ofThe Mandalorianis currently trying to piece together a plethora of pieces from across theStar Warstimeline, and while it’s a little messy, it seems to be getting the job done, and it does pave the way for fun cameos, with a recent one lending itself nicely for aStar Wars Jedi: Survivortie-in.

Taking place five years after the events ofJedi: Fallen Order,Star Wars Jedi: Survivorputs players in the boots ofyoung Jedi Cal Kestisonce again, but this time, he’s a little more experienced, and he’s ready to take on the whole Empire. ThoughStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’s plot is still being kept under wraps, it seems like the game won’t shy away from references to the greaterStar Warsuniverse, which could lead to a few cameos, one of which could come fromStar Wars Rebels.

Star Wars Rebels' Zeb Orrelios Should Make Another Cameo in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Taking place just over a decade afterthe events ofStar Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, and going right the way up to the events of the original trilogy,Star Wars Rebelsfollows a ragtag group of heroes that dub themselves Phoenix Squadron. The team comprises six standout heroes, each from their own unique corner of the galaxy. There’s Ezra, the young Luke Skywalker archetype, Kanan, a Jedi that escaped Order 66, Hera, the leader of the group and a talented pilot, Sabine, a Mandalorian who’s left her home in search of a greater purpose, Chopper, a lighthearted droid with a higher on-screen kill count that Darth Vader, and Zeb Orrelios, a Lasat warrior with a tragic backstory.

Voiced by Steve Blum,The Mandalorian’s Zeb Orrelioswas one of the few Lasat that managed to escape the Empire’s destruction of his homeworld of Lasan. This gave Zeb a deep hatred for the Empire, and spurred him into joining Hera and Kanan’s rebel cell. Zeb continued fighting with Phoenix Squadron throughout the Galactic Civil War, and after the Empire had finally been defeated, Zeb joined the New Republic’s Defense Fleet, where he put his piloting skills to good use.

Zeb Orrelios just made his live-action debut with asurprise cameo inThe Mandalorian. Much like many otherStar Warscameos, Zeb’s seemed a little out of left field, not really having any major impact on the episode’s story at all. Still, it’s always good to see a familiar face, and his cameo inThe Mandalorianpoints to the character’s use in futureStar Warsshows, in particular,Ahsoka, where he’ll likely join the rest of his Phoenix Squadron crew in their mission to find Ezra and stop Thrawn.

But before fans get to see more of Zeb Orrelios in theAhsokashow, it would be fun to see him pop up inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor. Set 10 years after the events ofRevenge of the Sith,Jedi: Survivortakes place just before the events ofStar Wars Rebels. By this point in the canon timeline, Hera and Kanan have already met, and have begun working together to disrupt the Empire. Eventually, Kanan meets Zeb and recruits him, though the exact circumstances of this meeting, or its place on the timeline, aren’t yet known.

There’s more than enough room in the canon timeline for Zeb to make a brief cameo inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, perhaps alongside Kanan and Hera during one of their early missions in the rebellion. Connecting all the different dots in theStar Warsuniverse is no easy task, but it could help to make the franchise feel a bit more cohesive.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivorreleases on April 28 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
