Summary

Activision Blizzard is tellingOverwatch 2fans not to worry after leaving the Xbox Showcase empty-handed. For the past few years, Blizzard has faithfully released new trailers showing off newOverwatch 2content. Last year, Story Missions were unveiled as an additional incentive, and fans got their first look at Flashpoint. The year before that, theOverwatch 2release date was revealed. But this year, a distinct lack ofOverwatch 2information has left fans baffled.

As the Xbox Showcase began, fans fully expected to see a brand-newOverwatch 2trailer, but it never came. Thankfully, it seems there’s a good reason for Blizzard’s absence from the Xbox Showcase as it aligns withOverwatch 2’s future plans. Blizzard has also been focusing onOverwatch 2Summer Games, which will run from July 9 through July 16. With just a few weeks left untilOverwatch 2’s Season 11 goes live, fans were hoping for an explanation, and Blizzard hasn’t left its loyal playerbase in the dark for too long.

One fan took to Twitter to express concern about the whole ordeal. Jared Neuss, Executive Producer ofOverwatch, said in response: “No reason to worry, there’s lots of exciting stuff on the way.” Principal Artist ofOverwatchMike Hardison also spoke up to put fan’s minds at ease, saying: “We’ve been cooking, but making good stuff takes time." In fact,Overwatch 2just launched its 2024 Pride Event, so there’s plenty of relevant content to keep the fans occupied a while longer. “We’ve got tons of awesome Season 11 stuff coming up, stay tuned," Neuss added.

Overwatch 2 Developers Promise Exciting New Features For Season 11

Season 11 is set to launch in late June and the update will include a new Push map called Runasapi alongside a rework of the existing map Colosseo. Typically,Overwatch 2seasons drop on a Tuesday, which would see Season 11 starting on June 18, according to the current Battle Pass Timer. However, it is possible for the start date to come a week after the Battle Pass Timer, pointing to June 25 being another possible kickoff date. It isn’t unheard of forOverwatch 2’s Battle Pass to drop the ball with fans occasionally. Blizzard has yet to confirm an official start date for Season 11.

It has yet to be confirmed if Clash is arriving in full for Season 11, as a trial period of the game mode accompaniedOverwatch 2’s Season 10. Blizzard has advised that Clash would be going live “later into the year," so perhaps the introduction of Runasapi and the rework of Colosseo has Blizzard too busy for another big announcement so soon.
