Season 2 ofOverwatch 2has made a number of substantial changes to Sojourn, but many players believe that more needs to be done to balance the hero. In fact, some think that a few of the recent adjustments to the character’s abilities made her more powerful in the currentmeta inOverwatch 2.

Following complaints about Sojourn being too powerful in Season 1, Blizzard looked to combat her effectiveness in the latest balance patch released at the beginning of Season 2. For example, thepower of Sojourn’s Railgun was reduced with several nerfs, such as decreasing the secondary fire critical damage multiplier from 2 to 1.5. However, while the damage of the secondary fire was lessened, the overclock energy charge rate was increased by 20%, meaning that the character could use it more often when her Ultimate was active. This change, along with several other smaller adjustments, led some players to claim that more needed to be done to balance the character.

Taking to Reddit, a user known as -Unknown-Legend- highlighted this problem by creating a discussion aboutSojourn and the power of her kit in Season 2 ofOverwatch 2. Specifically, the Reddit user wanted to know from other community members how Blizzard could alter her abilities to diminish her power without making her “useless” in the process. Unsurprisingly, many players were happy to offer possible reworks in the comment section.

Among the many suggestions, some users said Blizzard should remove Sojourn’s ability to charge her Railgun by shooting enemy shields. Players argued that this change would make it harder for the hero to fully charge her devastating secondary fire inOverwatch 2. In addition, some suggested reducing the damage output of her Disruptor shot, arguing that the ability should focus more on slowing opponents instead of causing direct damage to them. “It should either do damage or slow, not both,” one gamer suggested. A few other ideas included making the decay of her secondary fire charge start even sooner and reducing the ammo for her Railgun.

Unfortunately, this discussion started by -Unknown-Legend- and others like it are a telling sign of the currentissues with the hero balance inOverwatch 2. While Season 2 of the live-service game made a number of changes to characters, many gamers seem to believe that the changes were not enough. Beyond Sojourn, some community members think Junker Queen, among other heroes, needs more buffs to become viable in the current meta. While the many changes proposed by fans would be intriguing to see implemented inOverwatch 2, it seems only time will tell if Blizzard decides to include them in a future update.

Overwatch 2is available in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
