As you go downPalworld’stech tree, you’ll unlock deadlier weapons that you yourself can use against wild Pals and hostile humans alike. One such weapon is theSingle-shot Rifle, a long gun that’s perfect for hunting.
Players who want to snipe from a distance inPalworldwill want the Single-shot Rifleunlocked as soon as possible. Crafting this item will take a toll on your resources, however, and you’ll need to ensure you actually have the means to produce such a weapon before you can wield one.

Palworld Single-Shot Rifle Crafting
The crafting spec for the Single-shot Rifle and its required ammunition can be unlocked after reaching Lv. 36, and you’ll need aProduction Assembly Line IIto make one. A single rifle requires 20 Refined Ingots and 5 Polymer. It’s worth noting that, as of writing, the Single-shot Rifle’s icon in the tech tree does not match its actual icon. If you head over to your Production Assembly Line II, the icon you’re looking for is that of an old, western-style, lever-action rifle.
To craft Refined Ingots, you’ll need to smelt them in an Improved Furnace using Ore and Coal (not to be confused with Charcoal). You can find regular copper ore almost everywhere on the map, while Coal can only be found in arid regions like deserts. Be sure to craft plenty of Refined Ingots, as you’ll also need them to craft Rifle Ammo.

If you’re struggling with resources, try setting up temporary mining camps near ore clusters. There are plenty of these clusters all over the map, though the closest one to the starting zone is this area near the Small Settlement, as pictured above. Allyou need to bring is a Rushoar, a Grappling Gun, and enough resources to build a Palbox. Mine ores with the Rushoar; use the Grappling Gun to move while encumbered, then fast travel back to your main base using the Palbox.
Single-shot Rifles have an Attack rating of 1100. It’s devastating against humans and low-level bosses but not so much against bosses or anything with high health due to its slow rate of fire. It’s a direct upgrade to the early game Musket, though its reload speed is significantly faster than the latter’s. If you need DPS, you’re better off crafting other firearms like a Handgun or Assault Rifle, or you could just usea Lifmunk with a gun.
