Following on from the incredible critical success ofPersona 5, which launched to near universal praise back in 2017,Persona 5 Royalis designed to both expand and enhance the original game’s story. To do this,Royalintroduces a new Phantom Thief, Kasumi Yoshizawa, a new Palace, new music, extra plot andsocial elements, and an entirely playable third semester.Royalalso includes support for the Playstation 4 Pro, allowing the game to take full advantage of the console’s improved hardware.

For those worried that evenRoyalwon’t be enough of a reunion with Joker and his gang of heart-stealing Phantom Thieves, fear not. Earlier in the year Atlus announced anotherPersona 5game,Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikes, for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. While some speculated the possibility of a Switch port,Phantom Strikesis actually an entirely new game with the same cast. Early game-play shows what looks like more of a Musou style, a Japanese genre of games that are all about facing down hordes of enemies in real-time battles. Although there is no western release date forPhantom Strikesyet, it’s been confirmed to launch in Japan in early 2020.
