Summary
With crochet hooks in hand, aPokemontrainer crafted an adorable plush of the aquatic Dragon Pokemon Kingdra and shared the finished product on social media with other fans. For their work, thePokemonfan artist received praise and compliments for their craft skills and attention to detail, and some fans asked if a pattern for the Kingdra plush was available.
Known as the Dragon Pokemon, Kingdra is a Water and Dragon dual-type Pokemon and the fully-evolved form of the Horsea line. Kingdra made its debut inPokemon Gold and Silveras the fourth Dragon-type Pokemon to exist at the time. In pastPokemongames such asBrilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl,Kingdra evolved from Seadraby holding a Dragon Scale when traded. With a base stat total of 540 and a balanced distribution of its attack and defense stats, Kingdra is in the same league as Pokemon such as Gyarados and Snorlax. But at the time of writing, the entire Horsea line is unavailable inPokemon Scarlet and Violetand cannot be transferred beyond the eighth generation of games. However, that has not stopped fans from remembering the Dragon Pokemon in their own way.

On Reddit, a Pokemon fan named MikaD0000 crocheted their own Kingdra plush and shared it on thePokemonsubreddit. Using a similar method tootherPokemoncrochet plushes, the OP used blue yarn for the bulk of Kingdra’s body. In a set of four screenshots, the OP gavePokemonfans a look at the plush Dragon Pokemon from different angles. For the front scales, the OP made a separate piece, attached some black string to it to form the outlines, and crocheted it into place. Some white yarn was used to make Kingdra’s back fin and wings on the side of its head. For the eyes, the OP used some red, black, and white felt, and the remaining outlines were made with black string.
For their work, MikaD0000 received praise from otherPokemonfans on the subreddit. In the comments, a few users asked if a pattern was available for sale, and the OP replied to some compliments with their gratitude. Though it remains to be seen if Kingdra will appear inThe Indigo Disk DLC forPokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Dragon Pokemon remained in the minds ofPokemontrainers and artists.
WithPokemoncrochet artcontinuing to evolve on social media, the Kingdra plush is an adorable example of the creativity ofPokemonfans. Only time will tell whatPokemontrainers will craft once The Indigo Disk arrives in December.
