Summary
An artist andPokemonfan with amazing skills has just unveiled their latest project: a Mega Evolution for Starmie. Fans of the franchise often makeall kinds of creativePokemon-related art, but Mega Evolutions, as well as Paradox forms and regional variants, are still some of the most popular ones.
Starmie is the evolution of Staryu, and it first appeared in the first generation ofPokemongames. The Water/Psychic-type Starmie may not be the most popular Pokemon ever, but fans of thePokemonTV series certainly know it well, as the creature is used by Misty, the Gym Leader of Cerulean, who decided to travel together with Ash for several seasons. Due to its unique starfish shape,Starmie is a pretty good choice forPokemonart.

Now, aPokemonfan called CycloneToya decided to give Starmie a new Mega Evolution. The artist did a good job of still enabling Stamie to look like the original Pokemon while giving it distinctive features that make it look unique. For instance, instead of being a plain starfish, Mega Starmie got bigger, with more red parts, and some jewels encrusted in its skin. Also, it received a cool white scarf that makes it look as if it had wings.
CycloneToya’s Mega Starmie was a huge hit with the community, obtaining over 1,800 upvotes on thePokemonsubreddit. In the comments, several users praised the quality of this alternative version of theWater-based Pokemon. Lovelylethallaura, for instance, highlighted how Mega Starmie gave them strongSailor Moonvibes. Others, such as ItsHammond, were also thrilled but disappointed that the official games dropped Mega Evolutions. According to them, this was a huge loss, as these evolutions often enabledPokemonto get interesting new forms.
Mega Evolutions first appeared in the sixth generation withPokemon X and Y. Despite not being as featured in current games such asPokemon ScarletandViolet, they are still cherished by many fan-art makers who have played the series for a while. An example of that is a recentMega Evolution for Delphoxthat was unveiled recently by PhatmonMonstraros. This alternative version of Delphox retains a similar look while looking wiser and having details that resemble royalty, such as a scepter, which makes the Pokemon look even more powerful and magical than before. Hopefully,Pokemonfans will keep up the good work to provide the community with other excellent creations while Mega Evolutions are still not featured officially again.
