While Niantic just launched thePokemon GOseason of Hidden Gems, many players are upset with what was offered versus what was delivered on. Though pastPokemon GOevents have caused some controversies with what they brought to the Niantic augmented reality game, the Hidden Gems season may top them according to the community.

Since Niantic releasedPokemon GOin 2016, the AR game has gotten regular updates to entice lapsed players to return after the player base dipped from the original wave of fans. Through these updates,Pokemon GOhas received new featureslike Gym and PvP battles, raid passes, and some items that offered fresh mechanics. While Hidden Gems is expected to offer its own ideas throughout the course of three months, which is the usual duration of a season, some frustrated players have already abandoned it.

According to manyPokemon GOfans, the season of Hidden Gems isn’t working as it was advertised, leaving some players upset.Pokemon GOwas set to get some seasonal rotation spawns like Aipom, Kadabra, and Galarian Zigzagoon in celebration of Hidden Gems, but many are reporting the same spawns as the last season. Duringthe last season ofPokemon GO, dubbed Rising Heroes, fans were encountering Bunellby and Yungoos, and based on fan feedback, these are still spawning where the Hidden Gems Pokemon should be.

Pokemon GOHidden Gems kicked off on June 1, but it’s possible that some of the changes haven’t gone through which could be causing the confusion about spawns. On top of the adjusted spawns that have seemingly been unaltered,Pokemon GOHidden Gems will also include an added special trade each day which will also see additional candies and the possibility of a Candy XL for trainers over level 31. ThePokemon GOJune calendarshows a lineup of new Raids that players can capitalize on like previous seasons and the introduction ofPokemon X and Yentry Carbink.

Because a technical issue may be affectingPokemon GOspawn ratesduring the first couple of days of Hidden Gems, Niantic may be able to quickly fix the issue so that fans are seeing the appropriate seasonal content rather than a repeat of last season’s Pokedex offerings. Although there are severalPokemon GOfans upset with the spawn rates of Hidden Gems, it’s currently unclear if other aspects of the season are being restricted as well.

Pokemon GOis available now for Android and iOS.
