The upcoming DLC forPokemon SwordandShieldis bringing many fan requested additions to the game. One of the features will allow players to unlockPokemon’s Gigantamaxpotential, even if they’re a Starter Pokemon or if they were caught in a differentPokemongame.

Pokemon SwordandShieldplayers are eagerly awaiting the Armor of Isle DLC that will be available for play later this month. This change in approach to Gigantamax Pokemon is one of a few elements that the expansion the latest generation ofPokemongames. Along withmissing Pokemon coming backto the game in the DLC and brand new moves Pokemon can learn, the DLC will bring a new element to Gigantamaxing that haven’t been seen yet in the eight generationPokemongames.

SincePokemon SwordandShieldreleased, players could only obtain Gigantamax Pokemon by finding them through Max Raid Battles. This meant that the large majority of Pokemon in the game could not Gigantamax, likeStarter Pokemonand those transferred from previous games in the series. However, this system is changing with the expansion. Early June 3, Nintendo announced that one of the new features theArmor of IsleDLC would be bringing to the game would be an alternate way to Gigantamax Pokemon that players already have: through Max Soup.

Throughout the game’s expansion, players will be able to find ingredients to create the Max Soup. When fed to any Pokemon with “hidden great potential,” that Pokemon would have the ability to Gigantamax unlocked for them. Nintendo has not revealed how difficult collecting the ingredients for Max Soup will be and if there are opportunities to get more than one of the item, but fans may have to wait until theArmor of IsleDLC comes out on June 17.

TheArmor of IsleDLC is looking more exciting every day, and with continued announcements from Nintendo on different features it will be adding toPokemon SwordandShield, fans have a lot to look forward to. WithCrown Tundra’srecent announcement aboutnew Galarian Legendariesit’s including, the DLCs will be bringing a lot of content that fans wish was a part of the main game.
