Former PlayStation Exclusives That Can Now Be Played on PC
PlayStation exclusives, especially those released after 2020, have relied on a fairly consistent launch schedule, with most of them ported to PC around their second anniversary:
For the most part, almost every one ofPlayStation’s biggest exclusivessince 2020 was ported to PC within two years of its initial release date. Of course, this leaves outHorizon Zero Dawn,God of War, andMarvel’s Spider-Man, but this is likely due to the impending launch of the PS5 at the time being more of a priority than adapting exclusives for PC. Since its launch in 2020, the PS5’s capabilities have undoubtedly helped developers bridge the gap between console and PC, which is presumably why these ports are happening quicker and more regularly now. All of this considered, it’s possible to pinpoint an approximate release window forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2on PC.
When Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Could Launch on PC
Based on PlayStation’s history with exclusives coming to PC, there is a somewhat clear release window forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2’s PC port, assuming Sony follows the same pattern. Considering most PlayStation exclusives have been ported to PC almost exactly two years after their initial release date, even down to the month, it’s entirely possibleMarvel’s Spider-Man 2could make its way to PC in October 2025, as it initially launched on PS5 in October 2023. This would be nearly identical toMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales' pattern, which saw it launch on PS4 and PS5 in November 2020 and then on PC in November 2022.
Sony has confirmed in the past that PlayStation exclusives would see at least a year between their initial release and PC ports, soMarvel’s Spider-Man 2could launch on PC sooner than October 2025.
While it’s currently unclear whether Insomniac and Sony will eventually portMarvel’s Spider-Man 2to PC, it’s more than likely going to happen, as both of its predecessors made their way over to PC at some point as well. If it does get ported to PC in the next year or so, it may potentially bring along with it better visuals, increased resolutions, higher framerates, and perhaps even extra content.
