At a PlayStation State of Play event earlier this month,Resident Evil 3was announced as the next remake with a release date of Jun 16, 2025. The game is available for pre-order, but if players already know they want it and are looking to save some money now is the time to pre-order. At least on PC.

The originalResident Evil 3has become a mostly forgotten entry in the franchise. It followed closely on the heels of the belovedResident Evil 2and didn’t change enough to the formula for it to make as big of an impact. In retrospect, systems introduced inRE3made their way into future entries in the franchise. The original game added gunpowder and crafting, the iconic 180 degree spin, and the concept of an un-killable monster stalking the player.
Resident Evil 2was thebestResident Evilgamein a very long time, arguably even better than the stellarResident Evil 7. Now, the expectations forRE 3are set high, especially with such a quick turn around. Like the original two games, it seems like 3 will be visually similar to the 2. It will run on the same version of the RE Engine and likely use many existing assets. Based on how goodRE2was, that is not likely to be an issue for fans.
Resident Evil 3will release July 14, 2025, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
