Archie is not what mostRiverdalefans would characterize as competent with words. While the CW show has occasionally been mocked to an unfair degree for the quality of writing within some of the later seasons, there has never been any doubt that Archie is a little less quotable than some of the other figures in the show.

7“You Haven’t Known The Triumphs And Defeats, The Epic Highs And Lows Of High-School Football”
It isn’t hard to see why many struggle to takeRiverdaleseriouslyafter hearing quotes suchas this one. Archie, managing to make football the most important thing even in a juvenile prison, believes in his heart that football really is the most important thing in the world. High school football, no less.
While his heart can’t be faulted, and his belief that bringing people together as a team by actually making them a football team is filled with good intentions, this quote proves beyond any other that in his heart of hearts, Archie is just a bit dumb. Kind, and well-meaning, but blind to an awful lot of the bigger concerns that other people are burdened with.

6“I Feel Like The Prettiest Girl At The Dance”
Not only showcasing the ways in whichRiverdalehas tried to be amodern show despite the old-timey comic roots that have gripped the characters with gender and societal norms. But also shows how significantly the show has been affected by classic coming-of-age films.
This quote is from one of those perfect romantic moments thatRiverdalehas managed to generate. Despite few relationships remaining intact for very long in this town, the characters have always managed to fill the screen with chemistry at every opportunity.

5“You Are So Perfect, I’m Not Good Enough For You”
This is a quote that truly shows whythings never worked outbetween Archie and Betty because he can’t manage to see in her what she sees in herself. Instead, he believes her to be perfect and himself to be trapped never being good enough to be with her.
This reluctant acceptance of his own imperfections should be something that lifts Archie up as a character, but instead, it seems to continuously hold him back. It’s as if his self-confidence is so low that he can see his own imperfections, but not accept that other people have their own as well.

4“I Was Born Alone, I’ll Die Alone, I’ll Sing Alone, I’ll Be OK”
Archie is, at times, overtly cheesy on purposein the show. Some of the show’s most ridiculous quotes are said in a tongue-in-cheek way that is meant to make the audience laugh. This quote was a prime example of that style.
Related:Netflix’s Ultimate Guide To NetflixAfter being messed around over who he will end up performing a song with, Archie encourages Valorie to join the Pussycats and decides in this dramatic moment that he will go on by himself. While it wasn’t a really defining moment for the character in general, it was an extremely memorable quote.

3“You Are, Now And Forever, The Only Girl For Me.”
The tumultuous nature of relationships inRiverdalemakes thisquote a little ironic, but Archie and Veronica have long had great chemistry and romance across the many seasons thatRiverdalehas managed to run for.
Veronica and Archie haven’t always stayed together, and fans will be curious to see where they go next, but the idea that this pairing is “endgame” has only been strengthened among the fandom over the years because of quotes exactly like this one. The duo has spoken in an overly cheesy manner about each other like this for a long time now.

2“You Can’t Go Through Life Trying Not To Get Hurt”
Archie has a very difficult series ofevents occurring to himover the course of the many seasons ofRiverdalethere have already been. It can be easy to forget about some of them and think only about recent happenings, but Archie’s character has a long memory, and seeing what has happened to him over the years makes this quote even more poignant.
So much hurt in his personal life has caused Archie to mature emotionally through fire and pain. He has come to realize that nobody can avoid hurt and pain, no matter what situation they are in, instead it is better just to brazenly live life like some of the other characters in the show have also had to learn to do. This realization is a big part of the growth that Archie’s character has gone through over the years.

The relationship that Archie has with his father is one of themore important and beautifulaspects of the show, which traditionally shows the other teens being at frequent odds with their parents. Instead of doing the same with Archie, the show often sees him opening up to his father.
Not only does his father appear to be there for him in frequent moments when Archie needs somebody to open up to, like after the unfortunate bear attack. It also shows the relationship between them and how significant the later attack on Archie’s father was to him and his growth as a character.
