Pokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC will connect to the next mainline game via a specific character and lore, well-known leaker Khu has said, and this leak could be huge. After all, the next mainline game is some time away, and many fans are still waiting for Game Freak to release theHidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC forPokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Fans know that the DLC is split into two: The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk. However, details are sparse and it’s not even certain, at this point, if the DLC will meet its release windows. The first is said to release in Fall 2023, while the second is set for Winter 2023. The first sees players travel to Kitakami on a school trip, encounteringPokemon like Ogerpon, while the second sees players visit the sister school, Blueberry Academy. It’s likely, once these release, that the franchise will move forward beyondPokemon Scarlet and Violet, and the first leak about it just hit.

For the uninitiated, Riddler Khu is often considered the most reliablePokemonleaker in the community. They’ve gotten details aboutBrilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, andPokemon Scarlet and Violetin the past, so while their word should still be taken with a grain of salt, it carries more weight than some random internet user. The only catch is they are never straightforward. Khu posted the image below, saying one of thesePokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC characters is tied to the lore and that connection is a big spoiler for the next game after sudachi (the code name forPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC).
While it’s hard to say for sure, the most obvious answer would be that this connection suggestsPokemon Scarlet and Violetaren’t fully done.Pokemonleak aggregate account Centro Leaks suggested this could mean the next games are actuallyPokemon Scarlet and Violetsequels, akin toBlack 2 and White 2. The lore connection, in their mind, could mean the next game isn’t a remake or aLegends: Arceus-style game. However, Khu also suggests this interpretation was wrong, leaving many fans scratching their heads.
Some suggest it could be the character in the top right, because she looks so robotic. Some suggest it could be one of the two on the bottom left, believing their color scheme, hair, and clothing style are connected to Johto. Notably,Pokemon Gold and Silvercelebrate their 25th anniversary in 2024. This could suggest anotherGold and Silverremake is possible or some connecting game is in the works, which could bring Tera forms to Johto. Fans will just have to wait and see, but there’s no doubt many will be looking for any and all clues when the DLC drop.
