The most crucial step to get Altus Map fragment inElden RingShadow of the ErdtreeDLC is todefeat Rellana, Twin Moon Knight in Castle Ensis. Once she is defeated, head north from the Ensis Moongazing Ground Site of Lost Grace to reach Scadu Altus.
Keep going north until you see a Site of Lost Graceto the right where two NPCsare standing.Needle Knight Ledais found next to a Miquella’s Cross alongsideHornsent. These two NPCs are important for the main story, so be careful not to progress further into the Shadow Keep before exhausting all their dialogue, especially after you get the notification that a Great Rune is broken.
Proceed north along the dirt path to find a knight mounting a horse at the end. You can eitherkill the enemy inElden RingSOTEor ignore it. Justbehind the knight is the monument that possesses theMap: Scadu Altusitem which unlocks the majority of the Shadow Realm map. Considering the road is completely empty, except for the mounted knight, it should not be that difficult to reach the monument.
The map reveals one part of the Shadow Erdtree and various locations where you need to explore, like the Bonny Gaol and Bonny Village, as well as more important locations like the Shadow Keep, where you fight many bosses in theElden RingDLC. Tarnished will also be able tobreak a Great Rune and remove the seal blockingthem from entering a very essential legacy dungeon.
