Pirates of the Caribbeanfans andSea of Thievesplayers can rejoice as the game’s Season 3 will go live tomorrow, June 22. Players should be able to download and play the expansion sometime after 2 am PT, 5 am ET, and 10 am BST. The Disney crossover event, starting with part one of two titledSea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life, brings the world of the successful movie franchise to the Rare-developed game for the first time.
Season 2 ofSea of Thieveswill officially come to an end June 22at 2 am PT, after which the game’s servers will have scheduled downtime. This length of time has yet to be specified, and, as such, there isn’t an exact start time to season 3 forSea of Thieves. But, as with the previous seasons, Rare will bring out this next season the same day. So it is likely that players will just have to wait a handful of hours before Season 3 is ready to go.

Season 3, as before mentioned, is a joint venture between Disney’sPirates of the Caribbeanand Rare’sSea of Thieves. Players will team up with the infamous Jack Sparrow through a story campaign, accordingly spanning 5 tall tales. The combination should bring sirens, phantoms, ocean crawlers, and even Davy Jones to the action-adventure game.
This is the biggest update toSea of Thieves'2019 Anniversary update, which added the Arena, Tall Tales, and other major pieces to the game. In addition, Rare worked alongside Walt Disney Games to create an original story aimed at bringing out the best of both worlds.
The announcement of this update came as a bit of a surprise for players at this year’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. This collaboration betweenDisney’sPirates of the CaribbeanandSea of Thievesmay seem like an obvious match. But because it seems obvious, many hopeful fans felt as though it would never come to fruition. But the combination is, in fact, happening. And players can now take advantage of it just a handful of days after it was announced.
This update forSea of Thievesshould be available for PC as well as Xbox One and Series X/S players at the same time. It is also important to note that this update is free to download and play for anyone who already ownsSea of Thieves. The main title is available for $39.99 at the moment or free with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
