In a brief tweet, he opened discussion with fans by expressing his curiosity as to what people think “f” in the title means or stands for. Amusingly, he also noted that he had a running bet at work as to what fans think the title means.
Fans have been curious about the title since the game was announced, as it’s quite vague and doesn’t follow the traditional title format of the older games. Many answers that have previously been suggested also showed up in the Twitter thread, with responses including words like fungus, fate, flower, or even just five. Another common suggestion is that the “f” stands for “forte” in musical notation, with the “f” being in lower-case and strongly resembling the forte symbol.
Of course, not all the responses were serious, with some fans throwing out silly ideas like “Finally a good one,” festival, or evenFortnite. Others showed that the desire for and bitterness overSilent Hills' cancelationhasn’t come to an end, with one suggesting that it wasn’t an f at all, but rather a medial s, a manner of writing an s sound in Old English, which would make it notSilent Hill f, butSilent Hills. Sadly, this is almost certainly not the case, but the fanbase may never stop wondering at what the canceled game could have been.
