Splatoon 3’s Chill Season is finally available, and with it comes three brand-new weapons along with a handful of remixed loadouts returning from previous entries in the series. The update also brings two new maps for players to enjoy in online PvP modes, as well as the Marooner’s Bay stage for co-op Salmon Run making its return fromSplatoon 2.
Players can hop intoSplatoon 3now and check out this added content while they wait for more information on the upcoming Big Run event, scheduled to take place later this month. With multiple seasons planned for the duration ofSplatoon 3’s life, it’s likely Chill Season will set a standard to keep in mind going forward, so it’s worth looking at the content players will interact with most.

Brinewater Springs
The first ofthe new maps added toSplatoon 3isBrinewater Springs, which features a traditional Japanese temple set in an urban environment with the defining aspect being the hot springs water that surrounds the stage where battles take place. This stage is designed so that both teams start atop a ramp on either side, so players can follow the path down the ramp or hop over the edge to reach the center area of combat. However, people should be cautious when performing this maneuver, as the water from the hot springs runs close to the edge and players could find themselves easily splatted.
Flounder Heights
Flounder Heights is the second new PvP map added for Chill Season. Returning from the originalSplatoon, this map takes place on top of an apartment complex surrounded by other high-rise buildings. It has many vantage points by design, allowing charger and slosher usersto gain the advantage easily. The overall verticality of the stage allows for a variety of traversal options as well. Meanwhile, the central area is connected by a grated bridge, so players attempting to control it should use caution as not to accidentally fall through.
Marooner’s Bay
Making its return fromSplatoon 2,Marooner’s Bay is a Salmon Run mapthat features a large, wrecked steel ship as a focal point. It features docks on its lower levels for players to access during low tide. During high tide, players will be stuck aboard the decrepit ship as they fend off a Salmonid invasion. Chill Season will also introduce Big Run, which brings Salmon Run-style invasion content to regular multiplayer maps.
