Summary
The massive galaxy ofStarfieldpresents a significantly larger world to explore than Bethesda’s previous open-world titles, and one fan has shared their discovery of a beautiful oceanic planet which they quickly made their new home away from home. While not all ofStarfield’s 1,000+ planets can be landed on and explored, the majority that can be surveyed also provide the opportunity to set up a planetary outpost, with some worlds offering the perfect environments for such establishments.
Starfield’s planetside outpostscan serve a variety of functions depending on a player’s preferences, from resource extraction to simple ship refueling stops. While players tend to keep a look-out for resource-rich areas or scenic spots for their outposts, the game allows these planetary outposts to be placed virtually anywhere on the surface of a planet or moon so long as there’s sufficient space. The sheer number of unique planets to explore leaves much for the community to discover, though fans have already shown off some truly awe-inspiring worlds that they’ve come across during their adventures inStarfield.

Players have also built their outposts on certain planets recognizable from other games and entertainment franchises, such asHalo’s iconicplanet Reach which was stumbled upon by fans inStarfield. While there are plenty of ideal worlds to visit and perhaps even build on, one player known as motionresque shared their discovery of a picturesque oceanic planet named Syrma-IV. The find was shared in a post on Reddit which includes several screenshots featuring not only one of the biomes found on the planet itself, but also the impressive outpost built there by the player who discovered the location.
While the exploration and documentation ofStarfield’s procedurally-generated planetary environmentsmay not be to everyone’s tastes, the game offers a practically endless amount of gameplay for exploration enthusiasts. Some players have chosen to make fully surveying every planet their way of playing the game, and with many planets featuring unique “traits” as well as multiple biomes featuring different environments and resources, there’s plenty to find out in the galaxy. Fans have come across many oceanic worlds, and though players aren’t able to explore underwater environments, some fans suspect that an underwater exploration mechanic was present in the game at one time before being cut.
Still, thescale and scope ofStarfieldhas constantly been leading players to new discoveries since the game was released, and it’s unlikely that players will run out of new things to find anytime soon.
