Twitch streamer CBrev is well known for his content onMLB The Show 22and the previous year’s installment ofMLB The Show 21. He’s built a strong following of over 10,000 fans, and can usually be found playing the baseball franchise for four hours, taking on the game’s main events before moving on to ranked games. During his most recent night of gaming, CBrev came across a bug that wasn’t previously discovered by anyone in the gaming community, and his chat shared his disbelief. It also left CBrev completely stunned, his eyes widened, and appearing completely baffled, managing only to utter out a single, “What?”

In the 10th inning of a 3-3 tie game, CBrev was looking to strike out his opponent to gain his second out and extend the game to 12 innings, and it appeared he had at least achieved the first strike. The ball was hit into foul territory, directly heading into the crowd behind the batter, but the game decided it was a better idea to end the game. For reasons unknown, the foul ball was issued as a ground-rule double, and with a runner on third base, it meant the opposing team scored the winning run. It appears that whenMLB The Show 22launched Game Update 3, it either missed a bug entirely or created a brand new one upon launching its batch of fixes.

Regardless of the cause, the result left CBrev stunned and unable to speak for a few moments as he dropped his controller and slumped back into his chair. His chat’s comments ranged anywhere from crying out to any type of explanation to suggesting that the game hates him. Ground-rule doubles are routinely assessed to players who hit the ball into the outfield, and the bounce on the field sends the ball into the crowd. While technically not a home run, the batter is given an automatic double, with each runner on base advancing by two. It may be up there withone of the more hilarious bugs inMLB The Show 22, but one CBrev hopes will be addressed soon.

MLB The Show 22is available on PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
