The Suicide Squad and the Justice League are among the most prominent teams in DC Comics universe, and have seen a lot of different adaptations over the years. Released in August 2016,David Ayer’sSuicide Squadmovie offered up a new start to the DC Comics group in movies that would be followed by James Gunn’s film in 2021. Now, fans are waiting on the team to extend into video games with theSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueis likely to be released next year. While initial trailers look good, developer Rocksteady Studios will have to address one potential flaw with leading character King Shark. It is shown that every playable character in the Suicide Squad has explosives fit in their skull to prevent any mischief or defiance, as with other adaptations. However, in Gunn’sSuicide Squadmovie it was suggested that King Shark’s skin is so tough that they couldn’t even insert a chip inside his skull, let alone explosives. Something will need to be done to explain the difference between these canons.

How Kill the Justice League’s King Shark Differs From The Movies

King Shark’s personality differs greatly across different adaptations, so the character inKill the Justice Leaguemay opposite his movie appearance. King Shark first appeared in a Superboy comic in 1994, described as a humanoid shark with a Shark God father and a human mother in Hawaii. King Shark’s character has differed since then, and Rocksteady Studios likely has its own ideas in mind forSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. In theHarley Quinnanimated series, King Shark is shown to be a playful comedic character who doesn’t miss a chance for making some amusing joke during their misadventures. However, in earlier comics he was shown as a ruthless half-human, half-shark who didn’t talk much and was focused more on destruction.

TheKill the Justice Leaguetrailer was well-receivedlate last year; however, fans may note King Shark has a chip inside his skull to speak with operation leader Amanda Waller. In James Gunn’s movieSuicide Squad, King Shark’s skin was so tough that no microchip could be inserted. Likewise, in the comics, King Shark has been shown to have superhuman strength and durability thanks to his parentage. Rocksteady Studios needs to perfect the formula for a King Shark who has superhuman strength and durability, which means he can take massive blows, fall from great heights, bullet wounds, exposure to extreme temperatures, and more without sustaining serious injuries. Considering this durability, it would likely be difficult for Amanda Waller and her team to fully control King Shark, as shown in the film where they couldn’t even pierce his skin to fit any chip for location or communication. It’s hard to imagine explosives inside King Shark’s head, as mentioned inKill the Justice League’s trailer, as a safety measure.
