Although theSuper Mario Bros.movie has been in the works for some time, fans have only received one major trailer so far and a few details aside from that, but a recent leak may suggest how long the movie actually is. Indeed, the main thing fans know is thecast of theSuper Mario Bros.movie, which among others, includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser.
Many felt underwhelmed by the first trailer, especially with Mario’s appearance, and perhaps felt their fears ofChris Pratt’s Mariowere realized. Meanwhile, many enjoyed the casting of Jack Black as Bowser, so it’s really uncertain how theSuper Mario Bros.movie will be received by fans. At least for now, fans may know how short it actually is.

First spotted by ResetEra user delete12345, the Mexican and international movie theater chain Cinepolis updated its website (as seen below) with an 85-minute runtime. Many pointed out that it’s likely too early for chains to have access to this information, as theSuper Mario Bros.movie isn’t set for release until April 2023, and obviously, this should be taken with a grain of salt. However, many do seem to be reacting to this warmly. A short and sweetMariomovie is much better than a long, drawn-out one, and while this is perhaps a little too short for some, it’s worth highlighting how this would compare to other Illumination films.
Indeed, as noted by TheGamer, theSuper Mario Bros.movie would be the shortest Illumination film yet if it did clock in at 85 minutes. This would make itshorter thanThe GrinchandThe Secret Life of Pets 2, but there is a key detail here: its longest movie also reportedly clocks in at 95 minutes. No matter what then, fans shouldn’t expect theSuper Mario Bros.movie to be a long one.
Of course, this could have been accidental, it could have been a placeholder, and it could be any number of things aside from the real runtime. That said, stranger things have certainly happened than theSuper Mario Bros.movie runtime leaking online.
