With the global pandemic restricting visitors from venturing to the now-built Super Nintendo World area at Universal Studios Japan, fans are likely wondering what it will be like to visit theMario-themedattraction when it’s finally safe to do so. Luckily, oneMinecraftplayer has sought to offer that experience from the safe confines of home, recreating the theme park as a downloadable map for players.

Planet Minecraft user Dippy22 is the creator behind this significant replica, with images from the project showcasing that they’ve captured several ofSuper Nintendo World’s main landmarks in their recreation. Speaking on how they managed to nail them down so realistically, theMinecraftplayer claimed they used Nintendo’s footage and press images to devise the park “faithfully on a 1:1 scale.”

Dippy’s screenshots completely back this sentiment up, with the mod creator highlighting several of the attractions focused on throughoutSuper Nintendo World’s recent tour with Shigeru Miyamoto. The first is the green pipe entryway, complete with the glowing lights inside the tunnel and the large Super Nintendo World sign beside the entrance. Next, they’ve implemented the Yoshi’s Adventure ride, which has the colorful sign above the yellow archway similar to its real-life counterpart. It seems some of the exterior scenery from the attraction has made the cut too, including question mark blocks and trees.

The third image centers on the Toad-themed Kinopio’s cafe directly outside of the Yoshi’s Adventure attraction, with the eatery’s sign sporting the same design as the authentic version. Meanwhile, the final screenshot showcases the park’s gift shop, complete with the 1UP Factory sign, the pipe archway, and the various pieces ofSuper Marioiconography surrounding it. All in all, Dippy’s recreation looks to be pretty authentic. Unfortunately, it’s not finished just yet, however, the creator is looking for spare hands to help put the finishing touches on the project. TalentedMinecraftbuilders can access their Discord over at Planet Minecraft if they want to help out or just watch the ambitious project unfold.

As for the real Super Nintendo World, it was announced earlier this month thatthe park wouldn’t be opening its doors in February as planned due to the COVID pandemiccontinuing to rage across the globe. It will allegedly make its debut after the pandemic has subsided, so it seemsMariofans over in Japan still have a while to wait until it’s safe to visit. Until then,Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Furywill launch on February 12, offering both a quintessentialMarioadventure and a brand new open-world take on the franchise in one convenient package.
