Thanks to the final Sakurai Presents event forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate,Kingdom Heartsfans have a lot to look forward to. Not only was Sora announced as the next and final DLC fighter for the Fighter’s Pass, but a majority of theKingdom Heartsseries will be available soon on the Switch as Cloud streaming games. Many rumors and leaks surrounded Sora coming to Smash, but now it’s all been confirmed, and Sora will release on October 18, along with the version 13.0 update.
Like most of the other significant patches forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, Version 13.0 will most likely include some balancing adjustments for characters and the new fighter, Sora, the Hollow Bastion stage fromKingdom Hearts, new music tracks, and new Mii Fighter costumes. The batch of costumes includesDoom Slayer fromDoom, and Octoling and Judd fromSplatoon. If Sora’s release time lines up with the past DLC fighters, thenSmashplayers should expect for the character togo live at around 9 PM ET on the day of launch, in this case being July 12, 2025. Kazuya, Min Min,Pyra/Mythra, and the rest of the DLC fighters for this round of the Fighter’s Pass all released at 9 PM ET, so it’s highly likely that Sora will see the same treatment. However, because of server issues and/or downtimes, not all players might have access to Sora’s fighter’s pack straightaway –there might be a wait.

Sora’s Fighter Pack can be purchased standalone for $5.99 via the Switch eShop and comes with the new stage, new music tracks, and of course, Sora himself. However, owners of thesecond volume of the Fighter’s Passwill get Sora automatically after updating their game to the latest version, which shouldn’t take too much time if players have a stable internet connection.
