Just a few days from its release in October, a new launch trailer forThe Dark Pictures: Little Hopeshows fans what to expect from the latest entry inThe Dark Pictures Anthology.
The second entry in development from Supermassive Games,The Dark Pictures: Little Hopehas players taking the role of several college students and their professor who all get stranded after their bus crashes in the town of Little Hope, which has a history of witch hunting.The stranded group must work together to survive and solve the mystery of the haunted town.

Announced last year,Little Hopeis finally releasing after a small delay from when it was originally scheduled for summer 2020. Supermassive Games said the delay was caused by the impact of COVID-19, which forced the developers to work from home. That said, the game’s new October release date seems fitting with Halloween just around the corner.
Players will have the ability toplay solo or with friends inLittle Hope’s various unique modes. Shared Story is a two-player mode that works online, while Movie Night is a local co-op mode where up to five players, each responsible for their own characters, actions, and chapters, can play by passing the controller.
Supermassive Games announced theThe Dark Pictures Anthologyalong with its first entry,The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan,back in 2018 with the intention oflaunching eight separate games under theDark Picturesbannerwith publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment. While each new game will have narrator Pip Torrens, every entry is a separate, unrelated story.
The idea for the anthology came after the success of Supermassive’s PS4 gameUntil Dawn, with the concept of players being in control of the fates of characters in the game through quick-time events, split-second decision making, and different story outcomes. The unique experience can also be found ininteractive trailers forLittle Hope, giving players a taste of what’s to come.
Earlier in the year, Supermassive Games released somebehind-the-scenes footage ofLittle Hopein a two-part mini-documentary about the game. The developer discussed using motion capture to get the most out of the actors in some intense scenes. With the story of the game requiring a lot of action and emotion from the actors,The Dark Pictures: Little Hopelooks to be as promising as its predecessor.
The Dark Pictures: Little Hopelaunches October 30 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
