The Division 2has had somewhat of a troublesome time trying to balance player abilities with its pandemic ridden environment. Despite several efforts from the team behind the title, Massive Entertainment, some players feelThe Division 2has had imbalanced weapons. Fortunately for players, a new update (Title Update 9.1) is set to level the playing field and address issues with over-powered NPCs.
The title focuses on multiplayer action and it allows players to explore Washington D.C as an open world. The Division 2initially received praisefor its open-world mechanics and combat but has since had trouble keeping players satisfied. The development team explained that fixes were “a first pass at balancing these outliers” and they consist of reducing NPC Status effects, NPC Weapon Nerfs, and Player Buffs. The patch details the reduction of a lot of NPC power including less accurate blind fire, reduced healing, and less precise grenade throwing. NPCs will no longer be able to blind fire shotguns or sniper rifles and drones, as well as cars, have also had there power reduced. This includes the explosion radius and effect of a destroyed car. The post explained that NPCs had become too aggressive after the last update and that this was being remedied alongside the overpowered abilities that they possessed. These features should make the open-world ofThe Division 2a lot easier for players to navigate and without the significant challenge of non-playable characters it may be more satisfying.
The game has also fixed a number of bugs that were blocking players from entering locations. The Division 2has had a steady stream of updates that have improved the game, and players will hope this update continues these positive steps. While there has been the occasional misstep, it seems that the game is improving as a whole and it will be interesting to see if more players begin to pick the title up with its sizable expansions and fine-tunings. Either way players of the title will be pleased that the game is more balanced after this update.
Thefixing of known issues inThe Division 2will please fans who are still enjoying the online multiplayer experience, and many will hope that the game continues to get support. With the statement from the developer announcing plans for further patches, it seems that players could be in for an increasingly satisfying experience.
