Ajax Skills In The First Descendant

Passive Skill

When Void Energy is at maximum, enhances the skills and grants additional effects. When using the enhanced skills, Void Energy cannot be acquired. When out of combat for a certain period of time, all Void Energy is consumed.
Orbit Barrier
Active Skill
Creates a Barrier in front. The Barrier’s stats are affected by Ajax’s HP and DEF. When hit by an enemy, the barrier deals Reflection Damage proportional to the DMG received and Ajax’s DEF to the attacking enemy. Using the skill while Void Energy is at maximum increases Reflection Damage even more. After creating the Barrier, gains Void Energy.

Void Walk
Jumps forward then deals damage on landing, inflicting Stun. When using the skill while Void Energy is at maximum, enhanced Void Walk. When using enhanced Void walk, increases own Max Shield. When the skill ends, acquires Void Energy.

Expulsion
Inflicts damage and Knockback on nearby enemies. When Void Energy is at maximum, enhances Expulsion. When enhanced, increases base damage and range. When the skill ends, gains Void Energy.
Hyper Cube
Creates a dome-shaped barrier. The Barrier’s stats are based on Ajax’s HP and DEF. When Void Energy is at maximum, enhances the Barrier. The enhanced Barrier grants Barrier Enhancement to all allies in range, including self. Barrier Enhancement increases Firearm ATK. When the skill ends, acquires Void Energy.

How To Best Use Ajax In Combat
Players will want a good rotation of skills tobuild up theirVoid Energyfrom using earlier skills. This can get tricky if squad members like to change their characters and playstyles. Throwing out anOrbital Barrieris a great way to start an exchange against a group of enemies. This will help by building up Void Energy early onandprotect both Ajax and his squad members from damage.
If allies are going to hang back behind the barrier, Ajax can use hisVoid Walkto jump into the largest grouping of enemies to stun them and build up some more Void Energy. If Ajax’sOrbital Shieldis ready after using the Void Walk skill, players should walk backwards toward a wall and put it up to provide protection while firing at close or midrange enemies. The main purpose of this skill is crowd control and can leave enemies vulnerable to follow-up attacks from Ajax and his allies.
Expulsioncan deal damage to a group of enemies to finish off any of them that are low on health by the time Ajax gets close. This is also a great option to push enemies away from both Ajax and his squad members to keep them safe. While using its enhanced version deals more damage, it is recommended to save that Void Energy forHyber Cube.
Hyper Cube’s enhanced effects provide the most value compared to all other skills. This means players using Ajax should use his other 3 skills to build up Void Energy, and then group up with allies to place down the Hyper Cube. While an enhanced Orbital Barrier will increase Reflection Damage, theenhanced Hyper Cube will allow for increased damage from the entire squad— thenexchange some of their favorite emotesonce they are in the clear.
This is an optimal situational tactic, but there will be times when circumstances don’t allow players to all group up efficiently. In these circumstances, it can be beneficial to useOrbital Barrierat maximum Void Energy to get some extra damage output from Reflection Damage for foes targeting Ajax.
Strong Weapon Choices For Ajax
Different builds will use different modules and recommend different Ultimate weapons. This is a long way away while learning how to just play Ajax. Different weapons use different rounds, so having a strong arsenal will help ensure victory. This will be familiar territory for players who burn through ammo ingreat looter shooters.
General Rounds: Machine Guns
When it comes toGeneral Rounds, players will want to have aMachine Gun. This is a brilliant choice to keep dealing damage to enemies and finishing them off one after the other with high magazines. Players will rarely have to worry about General Ammo, but they will need to be mindful about burning through guns using other types of ammo. Running out of ammo can leave players in a bad situation, so dealing damage at varying ranges while closing the gap is a very ammo-savvy approach. Using Tactical Rifles will also give players plenty of experience for a build that usesGred’s Reversed FateorSecret Garden.
Secret Garden in particular will synergize well with Ajax’s kit, gaining enhanced stats.
High-Power Rounds: Shotguns & Launchers
High-Power Roundswill be divided betweenLaunchersandShotgunsbased on whichever the player prefers. Launchers will be for players who like to use their barriers as cover while shooting into enemy groups. However, players that prefer diving headfirst into battle should have a shotgun in hand to take down enemies up close and personal while their allies attack from a distance. It goes without saying that using this ammo for Sniper Rifles is something far better suited whentrying out a different character.
