A new clip has dropped from season 3 of the immensely popular Disney+Star WarsseriesThe Mandalorian, and it’s got pretty much exactly what fans want. Grogu doing stuff, “Mando” meeting up with an old friend, Grogu doing other stuff, it’s all there. This should help ease the wait for the season’s official premiere.
After fans got a good tease ofThe Mandalorianin the middle ofThe Book of Boba Fett, many became understandably confused as to why Grogu (still affectionately known to some as “Baby Yoda”) came back to his old friend Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) so soon after the emotional season 2 finale. While this new clip doesn’t exactly offer much insight into that idea, it does seem to justify the little green buddy’s return to the series rather splendidly. But while the footage offers a substantial look at one particular moment in the upcoming season, it isn’t the whole story. That part is better teased through a stylish new poster.

As discovered by theStar WarsLeaks subreddit, the clip in question features Din, the titular Mandalorian, meeting up with his old buddy Greef Karga (Carl Weathers). Greef, who appears to be doing rather well for himself, invites Din to take a load off and settle down nearby with Grogu for a quiet life. Din, meanwhile, knows he still has more to take care of and gently declines. This prompts Greef to question why Din and Grogu are back together again so soon, possibly in a sly nod to the fans who have asked the same question. It’s not a meaty scene, but it offers a nice chunk of content after such a long wait.
However, the real draw of the scene comes from Grogu, as is tradition. While Din and Greef are deep in conversation, viewers get to see just how muchGrogu and Din differ from Joel and Ellie inThe Last of Usas this particular duo features far more Force-powered shenanigans. The tiny green Jedi spends the clip using the Force to spin himself around in a chair before sneakily levitating a bit of candy into his eager little hands. If nothing else, this establishes Grogu as the single most relatable Force user inStar Warshistory.
Aside from the clip,The Mandalorianhas also released a new poster ahead of the 3rd season’s release next month. It features the striking image of several helmeted Mandalorians, including Din,Bo Katan (Katee Sackhoff), and The Armorer (Emily Swallow) standing in a row before a sun-kissed sea of clouds. This drives home the many indicators that season 3 will likely focus heavily on the Mandalorians themselves as a culture and as the warriors they proudly proclaim to be.Star Warscertainly knows how to make with the evocative imagery.
The premiere ofThe Mandalorianseason 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated streaming events at the moment, and it’s not difficult to see why. Between the adrenaline-pumping action and thesometimes unexpectedly beloved characters, this show has managed to carve out its own prominent niche in theStar Warsfranchise. Here’s hoping the next season has everything the audience has been waiting for.
